Ended up winning an early SA TRP in AK. No FCS, no ambi and no magwell. No night sights, but I've really started going towards an all black rear sight with a NS or gold bead front. I think it's a really cool gun. It was made in the SACS back when they first started making them, and the owner says it shoots lights out. I'll know pretty soon.

Very nice! I want a TRP. There's a guy selling a used stainless one locally for $1100. I'm tempted to give him a call.

Careful with the GB! It gets addicting, real quick. Especially if you have an FFL who does your transfers for cheap, they get as excited to see what you're bringing in as you are. I blew an entire paycheck once on GB, then went down the gun store and they had a pretty little thing at a good price that had to go home with my GB purchase. I guess it's not GB's fault, guns themselves are just addicting

It's funny you say that. I called my FFL today and they recognized my number on their caller ID and answered the phone, "So what did you buy now Joe?". :embarassed:

It was kind of over priced IMO, but I'd never seen one before and said WTH. :dunno: I've gotten two great deals lately in the Gemini Custom SP101 and the SACS EMP 9mm.
Congrats Joe!
I'm glad you bid on it.

That's an interesting one for sure Joe, nice pickup. I'm surprised that's your first GB purchase, I've had a lot of luck there myself.

I found the Legacy on GB, but since it was at a dealers, I just called them and bought it on the spot. I didn't want to risk the auction scenario on that one. I bought the RRA from Dave at DRC Firearms. It was his personal gun and I was able to talk him out of it.

I should warn you that buying on gun Broker can be habit forming.

As habits goes it is not that bad. You can end up with some really nice guns like you did.
It's not like "crack is whack" habit where you can end up dead.
Many congrats my friend:thumbsup:
I missed an auction because GB flagged my account as suspicious. Then they sat there and argued with me because I wouldn't send them copies of personal documents that not even eBay asks for.

What documnets?
Are you a buyer, seller , or both?
I am just a buyer. I have never had a problem with any transaction off of GB.

Drivers license, proof of address, and something else I can't remember.
I WAS going to be a buyer. I didn't even get past registration before being flagged.
Glad you are happy with your find but I just do not get it. Maybe I am missing something.

You must have missed the part that says, "Tactical".

Curent TRPs come with FCS, ambi safeties and other features... Some prefer their 1911s without these features... The fact that these early TRPs dont have the FCS (and thay were hand fitted in the custom shop) makes them very desireable... I was gonna bid on this one to have a matching pistol to my 4" TRP Champ but decided tp pass... Glad it went to a good home!

FCS are like a Cindi Crawford's mole... Yeah, they're ugly, but it doesn't look out of place on guns that have em, (most the time), but it would still look better without em. For me, they do nothing, I never understood press-checking to ensure your hot. I grab around the back like I do when I field strip a glock. Works on every auto, FCS or not.
Now that you pointed it out, your absolutely right, I'd rather have an early one than a later with the FCS and rail.
I mean the price for a used 1911 and a springfield at that. Maybe I am just spoiled by making them or customizing an existing gun. I know what it takes to build one and I can't get past the 1k+++ prices on most of them.

Looks great, only think I see is that its a Brazil Marked gun. Never seen a TRP with a brazil stamp.

I don't care for FCS or ambi safties. So this one really appealed to me. Plus, it's a TRP  I don't like FCS or ambi safties so much, I sent my SS TRP to SACS to have them removed, along with a few other things.
