Forget high capacity... That thin NEVER needs a reload!

We must pass common sense knife restrictions, for the kids.

After all, our founding fathers could have never imagined today's mechanical forging and machining equipment that creates such unnecessarily sharp blades.

If you are cooking, you really only need one knife, and it only needs a 4 inch blade, and it can have a rounded tip. You should only need the others if you are a trained, licensed, professional chef.

People should have to register and document with the state the number and types of knives they have.

Knives should be locked in a safe at all times. Do you have any idea how many people have been accidentally cut by a knife??? Especially one so wrecklessly and negligently thrown in a drawer in the kitchen? A 4 year old can open that drawer, for christ's sake!!!!!

Did I remember to include all the usual ignorant arguments?

You might be as surprised as me to learn that...

http://abcnews.go.com/

It's on their homepage under latest headlines.

http://www.nbcnews.com/

Also on their homepage, under US & World (same for MSNBC).

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/

On their homepage, too, not far from the top.

In all seriousness -- let's all be vigilant to the tortured workings of the statist mind.

In the recent violence in England, when the sales of baseball bats spiked over 6,000 percent on Amazon.UK, some British politicians were calling for a temporary ban on such sales.

Statists truly won't be happy until every citizen -- criminals excluded, evidently -- is disarmed and has no means of becoming armed.

In a post a while ago, about an English proposal to ban points on all knives,

the most intelligent poster asked if they would ban bench grinders too?

Slippery slope.

It boggles my mind that Spyderco, among other knife companies, manufactures U.K.-specific knives that evidently sell well.

meh... I don't see it any differently than the gun makers that started making smaller more concealable handguns because of the magazine restrictions from the AWB or making guns compliant with the more restrictive states gun laws.

ETA: after some research, I wouldn't have one of them though. What makes a knife more deadly and/or dangerous that locks open than on that doesn't? Oh the humanity.

And straight metal files, too. You'd have to be more determined than with a bench grinder, but you'd get there.

Or you'd buy a 2x4 and whittle a couple javelins out of it with your curved knife or a sharpened(with said file or by scraping on the concrete) flat head screwdriver.

You'll never disarm a determined human with two hands and a central nervous system for too long. There is ALWAYS something else out there they'll find and use.

The quote about necessity being the mother of invention has never rung truer.

Exactly...It's like the 11th round in a magazine that actually makes a gun deadly... http://www.kolobok.us/smiles/standart/facepalm.gif

From the article:
Violent crimes are growing more common in China. There was a string of knife attacks against schoolchildren across the country in early 2010 that killed nearly 20 and wounded more than 50.
Wow. What kind of a sicko stabs children?:crying:

That's it!!!! We must ban hands... they are just too dangerous for the common citizen to possess.

But... How will our leaders sign the bill?

Oh, right... They'll be exempt.
