This might be, like a long read for many of you republicans, since there is no reference to the

flag, God, empire, or guns

but it is an article that clearly explains how 2012 will be a redux of the McCain fiasco of 2008.

Many of the conservative (young) republican voters of this country have figgered it out. Not only that but the liberty leaning democrat voters would also take a leap for Dr. Paul, but, instead we will be, once again, faced with a choice between Globalist Candidate 1 versus Globalist Candidate 2.

Problem is...................all the socialist, welfare sucking, democrats and many of their dead relatives will vote for BO.

There you have it.

McCain redux.

stand by for another 4 years.

You did it to your selves.

My pain is that I have to put up with it.

Thank goodness he is not the Republican candidate.

Ah another paulbot, Meadow Muffin, thread.

In this one, if I get it, the Republicans (as a whole) were baaaaaad boooys because they didn't vote for someone they didn't want, because if they had, democrats would have jumped ship and voted for the "true conservative" but they are not going to vote for Romney because he isn't conservative enough for the people that voted Obama into office.

Alllllllllright, which one of you spiked the Paulbot's kool-aid?, c'mon, jokes involving drugging people are in bad taste.

I just forced myself to read the entire article linked by the op. Gave me a headache. What a convoluted, fairy tale of a story. I can't believe people actually believe this crap. Paulbots are strange people indeed.

If indeed we end up with another 4 years of Obamanation it will be in part because of all the "I'm just not going to vote" people or "I'm still going to write in Ron Paul" people. So therefore

You did it to yourselves.

Don't lose heart. One day after the Anarchic Apocalypse comes we'll finally wise up and bring our troops home from the Middle East and legalize drugs, just as the saintly Dr. Paul counselled us to do. Then the World will love us....as long as we hate ourselves. It will be Nirvana. :notworthy:

Their foreign policy rants, particularly concerning Bush and the M-I-C, are straight out of hard left writers like Naomi Klein, Noam Chomsky, Gore Vidal, etc. from a decade ago. I certainly read some of that crap back in my polisci days.

I've spoken with a guy locally in his thirties who was a hard left polisci major and is now a dedicated Paulite. His foreign policy ideas haven't changed much since the conversion, but he now considers them conservative views. I honestly can't tell if a lot of them are devious liberal moles or if it's just the leadership who's figured out how to successfully propagandize drug-addled minds with impaired memory and cognitive skills. Based on their almost exclusive referencing of YouTube videos instead of books, and their almost universal obsession with legalizing pot, I'm assuming the latter.

Ugh, my brain hurts. Back to the women's volleyball finals.

I didn't support Romney as a matter of fact, but he was the choice of my party so I do now, Unlike drooling syncophantic Paulbots who never had a choice in the first place and don't understand squat about the politicl system and how primaries work. Well put Jerry.

That was an apt description of how the primary system is designed and how it should work. The problem with some of the political cretins in this world is their basic ignorance about the function of the primary. They cannot grasp that it would be a disaster if we had, say a dead heat between 6 candidates (who already had their platforms cast in stone)
And had to support the one with the largest plurality, regardless of the platform. The primaries are about consensus building behind the most popular candidate and Ron Paul couldn't get enough votes to be the most popular candidate, much less develop a consensus

It also seems obvious, that the new war cry of the paulbots
"But he would draw so many Democrats" shows exactly what the whole libertarian scheme was about, and why it failed, and why they whine.

How can a candidate draw so few votes from the Republican party in the primary yet, according to the syncophants, be able to draw so many Democrats (the ones that elected Obama) that he would stand a chance of beating Obama, and actually BE a 'Conservative"?????

It was (and apparently still is in the minds of the delusional paulbots) an attempt to corrupt and divide the Republican Party for the benefit of the the liberals.

Caught in the light the paulbots cry.

"are you going to believe your eyes, or what we tell you"?

Funny! In 08 (I forget what state I believe it was Illinois to an adjoining state of vis versa. I don't feel like researching it right now.) the Democrats were witnessed busing people in from other cities/state to vote. New Orleans is noted for dead people voting even though ID is suppose to be required. At leas I must produce one every-time I go to the polls. :dunno:

But then The Obomination has produced his "real" birth certificate, doesn't support gun control, is going to close GITMO in his first year as president, isn't going to tax the middle class and is going to be impeached for all his illegal activity. I have some some swampland for sale in Arizona if you're interested.

This election is NOT just about the next four years. At a minimum, it is about many decades to come.

I don't know with all certainty what kind of supreme and lower court justices Romney would appoint, but I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that Obama HAS and WILL appoint strongly anti-second amendment judges that do, can and will impact our right of self defense for generations. The 5-4 SCOTUS balance can easily be tipped away from more second amendment freedoms. The recently hard fought strides (Heller, McDonald, etc.) in the restoration of gun freedoms CAN be reversed.

The next 5 years will almost certainly see the appointment of 2 or more supreme court justices and MANY more federal lower court judges.

So those who would not vote Romney because they do not love the republican choice, are practically no different than those who are actively working to re-elect the anti-second amendment judge appointing incumbent President Barrack Obama.

The test of a first rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function.

Wow, that didn't sound crazy at all . You say the days of the RINO are over and yet you claim one is running for president on GOP ticket.

Anyway you know nothing about me. I'm probably the most conservative person you would ever meet. I'm also not a :crying: because my man didn't get the nomination, and he didn't. Sane people now realize that it is down to two people and Paul ain't one of them. So it's either Romney or Obama and if anyone is in any way helpful either by voting for Obama or doing nothing to defeat him then they are like two peas in a pod. You may as well wear a shirt that says proud socialist in big bold letters because you helped keep Obama in office.

You Paul people who don't understand won't like that statement but it is true and you can't hide from it. So go on being a bitter crybaby instead of helping throw out Obama and then you can cry some more because he continues his United States wrecking agenda because of you. Hope you're proud of that.

You should know that opposing the war on drugs is actually a conservative position since federal regulation of drugs requires a liberal reading of the commerce clause and is executed with deficit spending.

Real conservatives oppose the war on drugs because they oppose the federal government unilaterally seizing power not specifically granted to it by the US Constitution.

Liberal elitist thinking at it's best. Yes indeed folks, these are the kind of people who think they should choose your next president, these folks who think "People" are morons".

Not only that they are so arrogant they think they can openly say it and still have credibility

You know I won't cross swords with you. But I will say this. For all the faults of the current Republican nominee, this fact will follow. On the morning after election day, you can either be on the team that stopped Obama, or not.

It's really that simple..

If that's the best we've got, it's obvious where the smart money is. Man, this sucks.

I didn't read the article .... it is irrelevant. The American voters have a choice in November. Romney, or the Destruction of America. I believe that there are more hard working Americans than there are welfare bums. The November results will tell the tale. If you like Ron Paul's Principles .... this could be your last meaningful election. If Obama wins kiss Ron Paul goodbye!

Well, what shall they do? Sit on the sidelines and not participate in the electoral process? You have to remember, Romney is going to be under a certain constraint that he was not under in Massachusetts.
Constrained by what, exactly? If he wins this year, he'll already have your vote locked up in 2016, regardless. He owns you and your vote. You can't do anything other than vote for him. So what possible constraints would keep his liberal nature in check?

You Paul people who don't understand won't like that statement but it is true and you can't hide from it. So go on being a bitter crybaby instead of helping throw out Obama and then you can cry some more because he continues his United States wrecking agenda because of you. Hope you're proud of that.
Yeah, it's all my fault. What a shining example of conservatism you are! Go vote for a gun-banning liberal this November, and then blame me for what ails this country. Go vote for the man who invented Obamacare, and tell me it's all my fault. You're no conservative at all. You're a party hack, and playing right into the hands of the very people who mean to keep you in your place as just another head of cattle to be taxed.

Quit trying to play "the conservative" when you are trying to get people to put Obama back in office.

You are still hammering on "the gun banning" drum as if putting Obaama back in Office (like you want) is an improvement and letting him make more SCOTUS appointments will help the 2A in the future.

The folks around here have seen what you amount to and nobody is buying it. You are just trolling away for your own amusement.

In case you haven't noticed, you have managed to drive former Paul supporters away from your position, but ,living in your own world, you don't even care.

His expectations and voter base are much different than they were in Massachusetts. I don't think my question was addressed: what should they, the voters, do?

You clearly are against voting for Romney. What would you recommend that any given Republican do at this point - not vote? If that's your recommendation, what do you think will be achieved by not voting?

I don't play a conservative. That's what you do. I am a conservative, which is why I don't throw my vote away on liberals. You, however, seem to have no issue with that.

If more people had the balls to vote for constitutionalists, we wouldn't have to live in fear of the Supreme Court.

Wrong. Again. First off, I know to whom you're referring. Secondly, he's been in the Romney camp for a long time. Thirdly, I had nothing to do with it. Lastly, your example (which was wrong) doesn't constitute multiple people, like you claimed.

In my humble opinion, people should vote for conservative candidates who revere the Constitution. The notion that there is no other choice but white and dark chocolate this November is completely false. I submit, that the only reason you're voting for Romney, is that you believe that is what most other Republicans are going to do. I don't mean that disrespectfully. There are still other people running - people who embody conservatism and liberty far greater than anyone we've seen. They're out there, and they're running, and no one is holding a gun to your head to pull the lever for Mittens.

You clearly are against voting for Romney. What would you recommend that any given Republican do at this point - not vote? If that's your recommendation, what do you think will be achieved by not voting?
I am against Romney, every bit as much as I am against Obama. I despise liberalism. It's a filthy cancer that brings death to everything it touches. I hate it. I spit on it.

I cannot, in good conscience, vote for anyone so nakedly left-wing as Romney. Despite what people like Countrygun would have you believe, that doesn't mean I'm in the tank for Obama. He's scum, and we all know that. I harp on Romney so much, because this stooge masquerades himself as a conservative, has most of the GOP faithful wrapped around his finger, and it sickens me. It sickens me as much as seeing the Kenyan squatter crap all over the country I love.

With that said, I don't have any advice for the Republicans, other than what I already mentioned. We're not slaves yet. We have the power to undo everything the progressives have done to us, if we would only exercise it!

If more people had the balls to vote for constitutionalists, we wouldn't have to live in fear of the Supreme Court.

And if there aren't enough you will help put a Marxist back in the office out of spite. More of that high-ground? Unless your "consitutionalists" have wa Constitutional way to remove the SCOTUS from the system they will always have the same position they have now. Quit blowing smoke.

Battling with statists is amusing, yes.

Oh yes here it is "STATIST", the Puppet Masters of the New Left have replaced "the Man" and "The Estblishment" with the term "Statist". The puppets appreciate catch phrases, with their limited ability to think on their own, it helps keep them on track Same old 60's garbage just rewrapped and peddled to a bunch of folks who have an overblown sense of their ability to "Change the SYSTEM" . Just like another Paul fanatic here telling us how the younger generation is going to get rid of the old guys in power. Rerun 1968 some more for me.

I must thank you for doing such a fine job. By 2016, one way or the other, the whole "Libertarian" movement will be washed away and the people will be much more aware of BS when they see it and will be less likely to get fooled by the liberal manipulators pretending to be Conservatives. Let's get this straight.Folk don't want Romney because he's Obama "lite". At the rate Obama is mounting debt,a decaff might be needed. As ta Romney,I don't like him/I've stated this before. He,however actually stopped by Israel and didn't go ta bow ta his muslim masters.

My theory on this election is ta give Mitt his term and then, let him refuse the nomination for another term.Allow the true "conservatives ta get a little older/wiser.Jindal/Rubio/West ect.

The rub is ego, would a 1 term prez do the above for a better nation? Doubt it.If we don't cancel the ones blank check we will see riots in the streets.Either by the ones lose or mitts election.

I'm liberal on some things, like the federal drug war. And pretty much anything that people choose to do to themselves as long as they don't harm others. Do you feel it's your right to control other's behavior even when it doesn't affect you? Who died and made you boss?

Sounds like the same rationale that NAMBLA proponents use.

You are so brain washed you and the rest of the paulbots are beyond help. You don't have the foresight to see what another 4 years of Obama will do to this country or if you can see you are delighted that it's coming just to sate your bitterness. You are cutting off your nose to spite your face and are a disgrace. You will never be as conservative as I am or as much of a constitutionalist as I am. But I live in the real world not some fantasy world like you all do.

Romney was not my first or second or even top five choice. However I see that he is heads above better than Obama and Obama must be defeated this fall. I don't expect any of you to understand you all are too deep in the Kool Aid to swim your way to the top.

Right Brickboy,

I do not like Romney, but if somehow we can install a non-wimpy, true conservative congress we can control him. There will be no controlling Obama as he has shown that he is willing to ignore congressional power and run an end around to get what he wants. Unfortunately the Republican run House we have at this time is too unwilling to do anything about it. This includes my senator Mitch McConnell, who I am working against in his next election. He almost got beat in the last one.

Why is it that when I see LEOs talking about dopers do I think that they oppose Dr. Paul because without the drug war they would be otherwise unemployed

So, OK, Maybe not a LEO, but perhaps a legal system guy or maybe a Bail Bondsman or even, though not likely in this case, one who works in a body armor factory.

I feel like most of the opposition in this string is because, without the war on drugs (a lost war), many of youse would be in the fast food profession..

Politics has unfortunately turned into a game of self-interest and like George Carlin said "Garbage in, garbage out". I think your point above is absolutely correct. This Snowman fellow has become the embodiment of the police state to the point that it is who he is, not just a job to pay the bills.
