State elections officials said petition signatures submitted by McCotter's campaign were riddled with an almost unprecedented level of obvious duplication (http://www.freep.com/article/20120810/NEWS15/120809079/Graphic-Falsified-election-petitions)and other irregularities. The campaign submitted more than 1,800 signatures, but only 244 were deemed valid. Candidates for the U.S. House need to collect signatures from 1,000 registered voters in the district to qualify for the ballot.

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette said (http://www.freep.com/article/20120809/NEWS15/120809030/Schuette-Criminal-acts-were-committed-by-McCotter-aides-forging-election-petitions) the McCotter staffers also likely did the same thing in the 2008 elections, using 2006 petition signatures.

If true, shame on them. If it is proven in court, they should be removed from office. Neither an article nor an investigation is binding.

Election fraud is disgusting, regardless of which side the perpetrator claims.

If this would have been about a (D) this thread would already been 4 pages long. But since it's about as GOPer the right-wingnuts are pretending it doesn't exist. The few that do respond only do it so they can make personal attacks on the OP, which is against forum rules.

And on more left-leaning forums, this would garner four pages by now.

I don't understand the angst of those who are surprised to find a gun board to be right-leaning. It's like being surprised that a hot dog stand doesn't sell well at a vegan convention.

So we can now all agree we need to get serious about preventing fraud in our election process.

Election fraud incidents are about 99:1 by the commie-crats, but they're always on the lookout for the one Repub incident so they can say 'see they're all the same" ...

Agreed.

Not to say that the fraud by McCotter's people -- if that proves to be a fact -- isn't a bad thing. But the ratio of incidents is wildly disproportionate.

Grow up and step away from the koolaid.

Follow the law. Not the party. Should be just as disgusted with these clowns whether they're democrats or republicans.

If they broke the law, then by all means prosecute them. Then can we agree that we should go after all voter fraud? Let's start with ACORN or perhaps the Chicago machine that is running the country now. Maybe we could revisit the black panthers in Philly.

That certainly would constitute the fairness and justice that the Left is always clamoring about...

It becomes apparent when they support Obamacare, which will neccessitate ID to be effective, but claim it is wrong to require ID to vote.

Could it be more obvious?

If they are guilty of any crime, treat them as the same court/judge would treat any demokrat caught breaking the law.

Hey, we all knew this could happen one day. We all knew that if politicians kept getting caught and arrested for voter fraud, that the laws of probability were that at some point, at least one of them had to be a Republican.

Even so, who knew the stats would be so lopsided? :)

This is easy. If they did it, convict them and sentence them.

You'll never see this handled in a bipartisan way, as evidenced by holder's handling of dem election fraud and intimidation.
