Got to shoot my new Stag Model 1 yesterday. Used Federal 55gr. 5.56 on the target at about 40 yards. For just shooting freehand I'll take it but I don't expect to have a career in the military any time soon haha! Only modification planned is a Magpul stock at some point.

Yup. May as well buy from the guys that make receivers for everyone else.

From what I've heard Stag keeps cost down since they make most of their own parts.

Yes, I have a Model 1 and have about 1k rounds through it with no problems.

I had Wolf 223 case get stuck in the chamber but that is to be expected with an AR. It is 100% reliable with brass though.

I had a 2TL and loved it. Wish I didn't have to sell it but when I was unemployed I didn't have a choice. My next AR will be another left handed Stag

My first AR was a Stag 2T, great gun. Loved that Samson rail! Never had an issue, shot over 1500 rounds without cleaning it. Ended up selling it at a profit too!

1500 without cleaning sounds pretty impressive. I bet the bolt carrier was messy. I know after 100 it gets pretty dirty.

Model 2R here. Has been a very reliable an accurate rifle in 2 years. Est. around 500 rounds through it with zero trouble. Have tried many different bullets from 52gr up to 68gr, all handloads. The most accurate being either Nosler, Speer or Sierra 52gr BTHP Match. Anyway, the tolerances are very tight overall. Machined very well overall, good choice for the money IMHO.

Very happy with my 2t.

Stags are made by CMT (Conteniental Machine and Toolery) Same as Colt. Great stuff!

This. My Stags have been flawless.

Stag (and its father company CMT) are good to go. Especially now that Stag offers a "plus package" that is on par with mil-spec features same as Colt, Spikes, BCM and DD.

It helps that CMT forges their own receivers and have been making M16/AR15 parts for everyone since the Vietnam war. Stag is owned by Mark Malkowski who is the son of the owner of CMT.

Yeah, I like Stag.

As someone that is new to the AR15 I am very impressed with the balance of the rifle and its accuracy. It is a nice quality gun. I may have to keep it around for a while.

Love mine, she's a keeper!

Had a left handed Stag but sold it because it would not shoot frangible (agency training rounds) rounds at all. After 10 rounds they would just fly all over the place.

I have a Stag 2HL upper on my carbine build, and a Stag 6L rifle. Both are excellent quality rifles. Completely reliable, and quite accurate.

Your MBUIS is on backwards.

Stag makes a great rifle and with the plus package, they are on par with Colt.

I love Stag. I have a lefty Stag A3 upper. Fantastic shooting guns and great quality.

I have a model 2 with the plus package that I've had for about 3 months. Had a little cosmetic blemish in the triggerguard when I received (an unpainted spot) but it has been 100% reliable thru 500 ronds of M855 (62gr 5.56). Can't speak to the accuracy as I've been messing around with a new scope (Nikon P223) and the BUIS (NIs) and have had problems zeroing.

I have an older Model 3 Stag. On a good day, I can keep this rifle under 1" at 100 yds., with open sights. This Model 3 is scary accurate. I love it.

It would be nice to have a Stag piston upper. I have heard good things about them. Maybe some day...

whoops dude

I love my model 4. It easily shoots one inch groups or less at 100 if I do my part.
