I want a light for my G21 -

I am NOT an electrical engineer - so no fancy math

CR123A or CR2?

Does it matter?

Seems like the CR2 lights cost less - batteries cost more - but you only need one. :dunno:

Light will mostly sit in the safe - but when I need it - I NEED IT TO WORK.

If I could find a gun mounted light that takes AA batteries I would be happy (is there a reason they don't make a AA gun light?)

Weapon lights dont use AAs as AA batteries have a habit of going TU under recoil, and they don't offer as long or consistent of an output as 123s. Also, longer batteries are harder to engineer around to keep the current flowing under recoil.

Never used a light that took CR2s, personally, but every 123a light I have had (mostly Surefires) have held up swimmingly.

I like the 123's but I like the rechargable ones even better lol.

123s - much more common

CR123's generally will make for a brighter but bulkier light with a longer run time, while CR2's will make a less bright but still acceptable light that is more compact and has decent run time.

I have a Streamlight TLR-4 coming in the mail soon, it takes CR2's. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.
