They are all a lot of fun to shoot! What do you prefer the most? I used to have all 3. I put them in chronological order for this pic.

Of the three, I've only ever owned and shot the AK-47, which I love. It's my "End of Humanity" gun; I've got 6 hi-cap mags for it.

The AK doesn't fit me at all and the Mosin is a waste of time.

The WASR 10/63 in the pic was one of my favorite guns. I shouldn't have let it go. Hold on to yours!

AK, but now they're all too expensive for what they are. $75 Mosin, $150 SKS, and $350 AK I could go for, but those days are gone.

I HAD an AK-47. It was a good one too. It was an older Bulgarian Arsenal.

I HAD a Mosin. It was a good one too. It was a Finnish M39.

I sold them both.

I HAVE 6 SKS rifles. They are good ones too. I have 5 Russians and a Chinese.

They're not for sale.

I own a Mosin 91/30 and it's was cheap and it's fun to shoot. I've never been and AK guy. I also own a pristine Yugo SKS and that is by far my favorite SHTF rifle. They just don't build rifles like that anymore it is built like a tank.

I also own a M1 Garand it is by far my favorite rifle but in all honesty it's very old(1955) and if I had to make a choice at this present time to go to war with one of them I'll take my 1969 Yugo over the Garand to save my life.

I like my SKS (paid $90.00, all matching SN) its one fun gun to shoot. The Mosin is fun but kick a little hard. AKs are fun to shoot too however the one I shot you have to bury your chick into the stock just to alien the sites, very uncomfortable.

Ak.....then mosin.....then sks. In that order. I hate the sks.

Don't think I've ever come across a person before who's actually shot a SKS say they hate the SKS and would take a Mosin over one. Hard to hate a gun that works everytime takes the same round 762x39 round as an AK and that is more accurate in many peoples eyes then an AK.

I have a 91/30 , Finn M39, and a yugo 59/66 and while my faverite rifle is still the M39 the SKS is growing on me. Lighter recoil, semi automatic , and for me shoots better than a 91/30

Of the three I'd pick a Sniper Mosin Nagant. In reality I'd pick the M1 Garand everytime.

My Saiga AK and Finnish M39 are 2 very different guns and I enjoy them both. I do want a SKS but every time I come across a deal on one there's something else I'm looking for.

I own them all, and in order of my preference I will rank them as follows:

1) AK

2) Mosin Nagant

3) SKS

No matter how hard I try, I just never can seem to warm up to the SKS, although I will probably never sell mine. As for the Mosin... It is a lot of fun to shoot, and was so cheap that I can't think of any reason in the world not to own one.

For me... The AK is the top of the food chain. I own/have owned over a half-dozen of them, and it is the platform that finally prompted me to jump into the NFA game, and apply for a tax stamp. If I could keep only one gun... It would be my Arsenal.

AK
SKS
Mosin

AKs:
My go-to gun is my Norinco Type 56S. Without a doubt one of the finest AK variants ever produced!

Why grab a bolt gun when a semiauto is available?

This is not even a contest -

1. Keep all 3 given the political climate and things to come. :(

2. The AK out of the 3, all week long, and twice on Sundays. :)

I own all three. My SHTF/End of times gun would be the SKS. Never have to worry about losing, or locating magazines, almost as reliable as an AK, but more accurate, and more robustly built.

I own a MAK 90, Yugo SKS and M44. Of the three the Mak is my favorite, its not as accurate at the SKS, but its not terrible either. I'm only 5'6" so the AK is a perfect fit for me.

I will get an SKS one day but for right now I have an AK (variant) and 91/30.

I've had all three, now just a SKS. I figure it is the all around gun. If the SHTF and I was just walking down the road with an AK, a sniper will take me out first for instance. If I had to get into a firefight, the Mosin is a bolt action and not conducive to rapid fire (to say the least). The SKS is in between, mine is 100% stock, doesn't look very unfriendly (I took off the bayonet first thing) and has enough capacity if I had to put some lead down range. So I decided to keep it. I LOVED my 3 previous AKs (2 GP 10/63s and an IO) and my Mosin, but I don't need all that hardware just collecting dust. I sold/traded them to hopefully homes where they are loved even more than they were in mine. :)

What kind of SKS do you have? I found my Yugo SKS to be a little bit long because of the addition of the grenade launcher attachment. However, I could definitely see a Chinese or Russian model being pretty handy in a fight. Plus my Yugo doesn't have a chrome lined barrel. Blah.

SKS for close accuracy and ammo carry
91/30 for distance
AK for firepower

I have four AK's, including a PolyTech type 56 and a Draco. I have a paratrooper model SKS, and a Model 38 Mosin carbine. I love them all but the AK is my favorite.

I now have a Chinese NORINCO.

I used to have a beautiful Russian that I had bought in 1992 but had STUPIDLY traded away (long sad story, which in short is, never listen to your better half on firearms, unless she understands them).

I take off the bayonet first thing as it is useless to me.

I have hefted a few Yugos, but to me the added weight/length of the Grenade launcher plus the non chrome lined barrels dissuaded me right away.

My former Russian and now Chinese SKSs fire(d) always and I like(d) them a lot. Same with the AKs and my old Mosin, though I never had fired that one.

Hey, we've ALL been there. My story is even sadder than yours, so I won't elaborate.

I do love my Russian SKS. I also bought it in '92, paid $160 at a gun show here in Fort Lauderdale.....I even have the box it came in!

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of my Yugo. Traded my $200 CZ82 for it. Basically just made the trade because I knew I'd make money in the end. Actually selling it tomorrow. Maybe someday I'll get a Norinco or Russian if the price is right.

AK. It's probably the only weapon I have emotional attachment to. SKS is ok wish it was shorter. I have paratrooper model but I think it's just a standard chopped SKS ie gas system is not optimized. It works but doesn't give me fuzzy feelings.

Don't care for Mosins except for Finnish variants. I would take M39 over any SKS and over pretty much any WW2 infantry bolt gun.
