Man oh man, this baby's sweet. I can't wait to get it to the range. I don't know who does the work for Talo, but it seems to a damn nice job. Here's a couple of crappy cell phone pics right after I picked it up.

I got mine last week and today its on its way back to Ruger. I shot it with Remington 125 grain and Magtech 158 grain 357's, and both are hard to eject. The Remingtons even split about 2 cases per cylinder. I'm not too happy right now.

Sorry to hear that. This is my 3rd GP100 and the other two were/are great guns that are as reliable as it gets. Sounds like an ammo issue if cases are splitting. I can't how that can be gun related. Also, hard to eject cases, seem to also be ammo related. I'll be interested to see what Ruger says and does. They have great customer service from what I hear.

Not sure about the grips, but otherwise it's a fine looking handgun!

They're different and feel great. Kind of a throwback to the original GP100 grips, plus a little checkering and some rubber "engraving".

I think it's the finger checkering pattern that throws me. I'm sure they're comfy though.

If the chambers in the cylinder are oversized (perhaps caused by the cutter chattering then the marks polished out) it will split cases and be difficult to extract.

before I sent it back I would test to see if it happend in the same chambers.

A friend of mine picked one up a few days ago. We shot the heck out of it yesterday. Shoots great, and hits close to point of aim with everything. I think it lives up to the hype.

Wrong. If cases are splitting, the cylinders are probably too big and out of spec.

Very nice!! I like the grips and it looks good with the stainless finish.
Ruger makes some nice revolvers

I just hope that they don't just blame it on ammo if the cylinder really is out of spec. $700 is an expensive paper weight.

nice Ruger, pistol sights on a revolver, interesting approach.

I have put about 300 rounds through mine. The grip handles 158gr 357 magnum loads very nice. I put about 200 rounds of Federal 125+P 38 rounds through it and 50 rounds of 125 grain 357 and 50 rounds of the 158

All in all a great looking great shooter.

I sold my 6" GP100 a while back and have always regretted it. I think I might have found it's replacement. Love it!

That is a nice pair of Ruger wheelguns, ready for serious business. I love the sights on the GP100. Your custom SP101 is a dandy little carry package, some of us 'dream' about. Thanks for sharing.--Rob

If it had the 4.2" barrel, I'd have one for a truck gun.

I bought mine a couple months ago. The front site went loose after shooting less than 100 rounds. I sent it back and they replaced the whole barrel assembly. Now it's solid. Must have over cut the slot for the front site.

Now this is the ammo's fault, but I bought 1K rounds of Prvi Partisan .38 special LRN, and after shooting 50 rounds, I couldn't close the cylinder. It was so dirty. I sold off the rest of the ammo. It was shooting clouds of smoke out the front. I thought it was a muzzle loader for a second. Lol

I like the grips, but i put on the hogue tamer grips and this thing is so soft to shoot.

Good luck with it.

-Frank

I've heard of the front sight problem. Mine is getting its cylinder replaced, wonder if they will check for the front sight defect while its there?

I bought me a regular standard GP100 3 months ago and took it out to the range and my 3 inch is real good shooter and target was almost dead center from 50 yards sitting in a wheel chair. today,I bought a S&W 642 pro that came with 2 moonclips. Took it out to range with my SP101 and at 25 yards and 50,it did ok . But,,,,,, the SP with 158 magtechs in it was doing better than the Smith. 642 pro,it will do the job. Just need more range time on the farm.

Anyone changed out the front sight for a NOVAK tritium sight?

They're from Altamont Grips! I got a pair for my GP100, and I love them! Not sure how they'll shoot with some full-bore magnums I have, but anything is better than those Hogue Grips. Jesus, I wish they'd make those optional!

I love my GP100! Good score on the TALO! They came out with Wiley's version just three months after I bought mine. Pissed me off!

 I also have a 5.5" SS Redhawk .44Mag, 2.25" SS SP101 from Gemini Custom, 2.25" SP101 w/CT grips per proxy that I bought for my Mom, 7.5" SS fluted bull barrel MkIII 22/45 with a 5.5" SS Single Ten ordered this weekend on the way. Had a 4" SS GP100 that was stolen by some bastard! :steamed:, 6.5" Blackhawk .357 Mag (sold) and my VERY FIRST HANDGUN was a 7.5" SS Redhawk in .44 Mag, which I stupidly sold. I loves me some Ruger revolvers.

You know, I just read an article about the new Ruger Single Nine (.22 WMR), and God Above, that is a BEAUTIFUL revolver! I imagine the Single Ten is just as nice? And those sights!

You will love that WC GP. I really like mine and will be carrying it as soon as my holster is ready. I put Hogue coco grips on mine and it is sweet.
