First gun I've bought in over a year. Been trolling shops and classifieds for a couple weeks now, with nothing really catching my eye. I spotted this in a classified ad, and snagged it with the intention of giving it to some old friends who let me hunt and shoot on their land to use as a HD gun. I might have to keep looking for a gift gun though, I really like this thing.

Guy I bought it from did the Duracoat job. I'm not a fan of digital camo, but this doesn't look bad, and he did a good job of it.
Put 100 rounds or so through it today, runs just fine. That lump on the barrel is a Limb Saver barrel de-resonator I've been meaning to buy and play with....but not for the 30 bucks they usually cost. Found one in closeout at Dick's yesterday for 4 dollars. I didn't really get to see if it makes a difference today, I really need to throw a scope on there to see what sort of accuracy the gun is capable of.

It is a fun little gun. I was looking into railed fore ends so I could add a light, but I think I'm going to just leave it the way it is. The bipod isn't a marvel of sturdiness, but I kinda like it.

It's not a bad gun.
Light weight.
Right reliable.
Accracuy is nothing special. About like the typical AR.
Fun to shoot.
I put a Phantom flash hidder on it for looks as much as anythig else.

Dislikes.
No sling mounts.
The bipod sucks. (but I like the shape of the forearm with the bipod closed)
The KT magazines are junk. (same as all my other plastic KT mags)
The magazines fall out of the stock.

For a few years the rifle has been doing duty as a car trunk gun.


DO NOT use steel case ammo in KT guns.
I also had trouble with 55.6 ammo in my SU-16CA and PLR 16 pistols.

I have a SU16C since 2006 also and it hasn't had any issue with any ammo. I also don't shoot steel case ammo. The thing I love about it is it's weight. Mine has a quad rail because I really didn't like the weak bipod. Keltec also offers sling mounts. It fits a niche, throw it in the trunk with 3 mags during hurricane season or in a backpack while camping. I don't think it will last much longer than 10k rounds.

Yeah my idea of keeping the bipod fore end didn't last...I ordered a railed fore end about an hour after writing that last night.
