I have a Guncrafter No Name, a EB Special Forces and a Colt Mars Armament T.H.U.G.

I'd like this for home defense, mainly, in addition to my other firearms. I'd also like to use it at the range.

What would you choose and why?

Tough choice

I love both Wilson and GC. In my opinion GC offers a better value, but since you don't own a Wilson yet, that may be the way to go.

I have a Guncrafter Model 1 as well as a Wilson CQB. I'd recommend the Wilson over the Model 1, unless you reload for the Model 1, as ammo is expensive and not easy to find. The Model 1 is a GREAT gun, and will live up to your expectations, since you already know from owning a GC NN and know what kind of quality Alex puts out. Either way, you won't go wrong.

What ammo does the Model 1 use? You can't just shoot a standard 45 out of it?

The Model 1 is a .50GI. You can get a .45ACP conversion barrel for it though. Since I have 4 other Guncrafters in .45, I leave my Model 1 as a .50GI,

I believe you can order a Model1 either in 50 or 45.

True, but the Model 1 is a .50GI based 1911, that has been adapted to the .45ACP.

50 GI sounds fun. What's the velocity and muzzle energy? Guncrafter is the only provider for the ammo?

It does seem rather silly to order a GC Model 1 in 45ACP.

That's just my opinion, of course.

Muzzle energy is similar to 45ACP. The hot 50GI is like 45ACP+P.

If a designated home defense pistol, it must hold a light. I'd prefer an AR over your choices.

Don't worry about that. I just acquired a Noveske Thunder Ranch with an Aimpoint T1 red dot. That part is already covered.

I have a Mars Armament T.H.U.G. 1911 With a rail already. I just want a premium full sized 1911.

Now back to my original question.

Maybe the Model 3, then....

Well, it sounds like you want a .50GI, so Model 1 or 3 sounds like the way to go. Just need to decide between a fullsize or commander. BTW, Alex will build you a No Name in .50GI in fullsize or commander.
