View Full Version : Another pea-shooter;
I put one of these on layaway, couldn't resist.
I'm on a pea shooter kick.

It's a S&W model 1 and 1/2 SA .32 (S&W). Made about 1890, really good shape with strong mechanicals, bright bore and sharp rifling with only a few possible pits. Decent trigger too, for the spur types.
I'm going to shoot my Iver Johnson .32 tomorrow, will save the brass and maybe a few rounds for this one.
Nice find......I've always liked the look of the top break revolvers. Remember when you could buy them all day long for around $40.00, each?

I do, in fact I did that last week, talked them down five bucks.:supergrin:

I remember even the times, when $40 was considered outrageously expensive on a top-break revolver.
I am also, once again, intrigued by pea-shooters and have picked up a few .32 ACP pistols lately.

Very nice find, Berto!!!
I passed over a 6" .32 SW top break last year and I kicked myself for it.

You are good enough to hit a pea!:wow:
As you know I love Berto Reports. That revolver came out in the 1860's. Not sure when yours was made but even if a later production it is still very old. Your discription seems to indicate it is in shooting condition.
Do you plan to shot it?
If so then get a can of peas .....:supergrin:

Cool top brake pistol, love the look. It reminds me of the old detective shows like Sherlock and Poirot.

I do plan to shoot it. Still undecided on whether to run even the low powered modern .32 S&W in the Smith though, it wasn't made for smokeless and the pressure spike is different than Black Powder.
I understand the present day .32 SW is is loaded light in deference to older BP top breaks, but I don't want to push the gun.
I'll work on the peas.:supergrin:
