I'm not sure bac can help you with budget guns, he's more on the other spectrum, but I'd be curious as to what he'll say.

All the Enhanced I've seen are at least $200 more than the other two.

Brian's actually got quite a few of the lower end 1911's.

Well, the R1 E is a bit higher priced than the others. If you're in that price range, I recommend a Springfield Range Officer or Kimber Custom II.

I'm curious how you decided to narrow it down to those specific three. :dunno:

I've got them in all price ranges, my friend. :wavey:

All three are fine pistols. I have examples of each. As others have said, the R1 Enhanced is a couple hundred more than the other two. It is a fine shooting pistol. I was extremely impressed with mine the first time I took it out to the range. If I was looking for a budget 1911, I would seriously look at the RIA Tactical. You get a lot of bang for the buck.

Your collection always impresses me.

To the op I have a rock island match 1911, it's just a little bump up in money over the tactical, and I've been very satisfied, can't comment on any of the others.

I actually recommend ATI over either American classic or RIA. However, all three are good. All three are built in the Philippines by SAM, Armscor, and Metro respectively.

Bac, what did you see in ati that put it ahead of the other 2?

Hey Greg,

Been good. I have been working on fixing up my MINI Cooper S. That requires a bit of money, so my gun buying has been put off. I actually have a few up for sale right now (Polytech M14S, Lithgow L1A1-F1, and my 1969 Browning Hi-Power). I am also planning on redoing my AR15A1 build on a NDS-16A1 lower. That will give me a DPMS lower to build something else.

Thanks Brian. I try to take a peek at GT every once in a while just to stay abreast of what is going on.

The ATI (made by SAM) has more consistent quality of fit & finish.

I think its a tigher gun with slightly better fit and finish.
