That's BamaTrooper vs. Wei Young at Conyers 2011 BTW - one of Wei's first matches after making MatchMeister earlier in the season.

The Gunny Match is a special match for matchmeisters. Any matchmesiter may enter. It is all steel, one against one, best of three strings of fire. All use pistols and ammo furnished by Glock. Last year's pistols were Gen4 G35's with Ameriglo green fiber optic front sights. Winner goes on to next round. Semi-finals and finals are best of 5. Winner gets trophy and $3.000 check.

The match usually starts off with about 32 shooters. Names are drawn for pairings. First held in Vegas, the match is now held in Conyers, around 1 or 2pm on Saturday. It is very exciting to watch--the best against the best, one on one. Butch is the all time Gunny Winner with three wins to his credit.

Just rsvp'ed for this years match, glad this thread reminded me! I think we shot gen4 35's last year actually, but could be wrong as I usually don't make it past the first round :whistling::whistling:

Ya know I'm not ashamed of my tissues! Actually put the plaque on my "trophy wall" of sorts. 5th out of 16 match winners ain't bad, but it did sting a little not to win a gun or cash!

I sent in my RSVP yesterday although I was surprised to get an invite this year; I haven't been shooting much this year. Hopefully next year is a little different.

I thought this was a special class where Butch schools everyone on how to shoot steel? :whistling:

Now, what is Matchmeister.
Alright S. - you're getting on my nerves...

190.25 MatchMeister. The MatchMeister “Performance”
award will continue to go to the single best performance
among the Civilian, Guardian, Subcompact,
Competition, Heavy Metal, or MasterStock
divisions by either an Amateur or Master competitor.
The prize will be a GLOCK firearms certificate.

Hating that I have to invoke the 'Rules' - but it's in there. :tongueout:

I figured it was in there, but I just love it when you speak in bureaucratic legalese.

Thanks....but I (or my wife) took that picture....I was hoping for a close up shot of the trophy itself. :)
