Finished the Remington R1

Finally got the Raasco grips in and put on with the Gold grip screws. Also added the Wilson trigger for a little tighter fit. Shows the thick flange end cap. Also shows the Kimber 8 round magazine, I like the Kimber 8 round because unlike the Remington 8 round that came with it the magazine bottom is flat metal and even with the grip Magwell.

How does it shoot?

I have not been able to get to the Range with the new trigger yet, but I would not expect it to shoot any different than it did. It shot great before and the trigger pull is the same just less slop. I will find out this week end. Last week end the rains hit Kentucky from the Hurricane, rained all week end. Hopefully fire it this week end. Put the same trigger in my Taurus and it was no problem.

I'm just not a fan of gold on a firearm. To each their own, of course. If you like it, that's all that matters.

I wouldn't have done the gold grips screws on my own gun. However, I think it looks good with them.

I am not quite sure that I like the gold grip screws either, I do and I don't so today I ordered SS grip screws to match the trigger and barrel bushing. I will see how it looks with them, and then make my decision.

SS screws and remove the gold from "Remington" and you'll have a classy looking 1911. :)

Nice looking pistol. I hate this forum, my guns are all scratched to hell from carry and competitions and looking at these pretty pictures makes me want something new.

Foxtrotx1, nope no safe queen, i also have a 1960 S&W Model 41 and a 1964 Marlin 39A both in excellent condition and all my weapons I buy to shoot and enjoy the looks. I just keep them nice. I am going to order Silver inlay for it and replace the gold grip screws with SS. I think Silver and black would look better.

Well, the Infinity has the gold barrel due to the ti-nitride finish. I'm not crazy about the color, but the barrel is about the best in the business. :)

Its probably the best shooting 1911 I own, but at $4K, it better be. ;)

Actually the grips are flush but they do appear to be sticking out in the picture.
