I have a friend who is selling a Glock 17 gen 1. He has put less then 500 rounds in it and is the original owner. he is ex army and cleans his firearms like it is his job. He is asking $500 for it, which i felt like was way to high. i realize Gen 1 is harder to find and will be a collectors item someday however i dont feel today is that day. What do you guys think is a good price for this weapon?
thanks for the help

you will probably get more replies in the Glock Collector's Club area. but yes that seems too high.

i wouldnt hesitate on giving him 500.00 if u know where its been and its mint. they are getting hard to find and most are beat to heck. if u decide u dont want it ill give u 500.00. dont miss out trying to save a few bucks..

If it's in that good a shape with that low a round count I'd gladly pay that much for it.

but ONLY if it has the original plastic tupperware case and 2 mags. Without they have sold for as low as $385 but have fetched $500. With the case two weeks ago one sold for $550 in the Cbus area. i'd go max 450 without case.

If it's in great condition I'd pay $450-500

Several months ago, I bought a Gen 1 G17 with Tupperware case, two mags, and original paperwork for $450.

I don't know if you are aware of the Serial Number project, much information in it,more that just serial numbers.

Offer him $450.00 for it and see what he says..I would ask to shoot it first before you buy it...

If it is in great condition I could see 500 easily for it also.

If it has all the goodies that is a fair price. Man should get a little extra for taking good care of it IMHO.

If you really want one, you likely cant find another one that you know the true round count on and know that it has been well kept.

Just do it. Glock isn't making any more of them in Gen1. If you like the feel of the Gen1 grip, there is no substitute.
