View Full Version : Internal locks bad?
I have a S&W 442 with a lock. Are those not safe to carry? Do they have a record of locking up the gun at the worse possible time? Thanks.

I don't like them at all, but they don't seem to bother some.
I am sure you can read plenty of good and bad about it. When I got mine a few years ago they had one of each and I opted for the no lock. I am sur eyou will be fine.

Some people don't mind them, I won't own a gun with a lock.

The lock is easily removed, and there is a guy on the smith and wesson forum that makes a nice looking plug to fill the hole

All four of my S&W revolvers are pre-lock.
I will not buy a S&W revolver with one.
Have read of them failing and locking the gun at the wrong time.
They can be removed, disabled and plugged.
That solves the failing issue.
