View Full Version : Top shooters Ready or Low Ready?
I stand in awe of some of your Plate times in the other thread, I've never bested 5.10. I need to do some drills to see if my first shot is quicker swinging up or punching out, so I'm curious what most guys find to be a quicker start, punching out from a Ready, or swinging up from a Low Ready.
Thanks

I will start off the thread with the following:
I am not one of the fast guys :(
But I "punch out" from the "compressed ready" for the sole reason that this position isvery close to one of the positions of the drawstroke from holster. I know not if it is faster or slower.
I'm a puncher....
:)
I'm like Butch only better looking and slower.
I also punch out.

Go to a side match and shoot it both ways but only one or two plates at a time. You can then get 3-6 tries at it for each $1 string. Just don't take too long if others are waiting. : )

I have 2 8" plates on static mounts that I use for practice, so I'm going to try it both ways with my timer and see what works best for me. Thanks for the input guys.
