Or give me a comparable #3. Deer hunting rifle upper. Decided on 6.8 over 6.5 and 300 BO after way too many hours of research online.

I would still have to buy a BCG and BCM Gunfighter charging handle for the PSA ~ $130 more

Judging by my 20" 5.56 PSA upper, I'd give them a shot. Just don't be in any kind of hurry.

I have the much maligned .30 Rem AR.

The 150 grain Core-Lokts dropped a nice Axis doe this past April. Now I'm handloading 130 grain Sierra Pro-Hunters. A little more accurate and will still take any deer sized game.

For hunting, i'd get the 18", you may need the performance, and the entire gun is still shorter than most deer rifles.

A 16" does fine out to 200-300 but a little extra velocity never hurts.

Build and ship time slow? As in not before November deer season slow?

Build and ship time slow? As in not before November deer season slow?

Took me 13 days from order to delivery a couple of weeks ago, and everything was as ordered. Others have had longer lead times and some shipping issues though.

I'd still go for it.

Took 13 business days for mine to ship. Shot it for the first time this weekend....quality is fantastic.

I had a local gun shop owner come over, ask about it, and want a hands on look. He was impressed. He was Stag Arms fan.

"Recon Subsonic"?

Sorry, but that's one weird name for an upper. Very contrived. Who wants to market anything about being sub-sonic? It's like giving a new car the name of "Bad MPG Slow".

Anyways, my vote is for #2. Better rail and a longer barrel, better for hunting.

"Recon Subsonic"?

This is their explanation.
