I carry a NAA >22 Mag as a backup and for home defense.
As a backup it is very light, easily concealable, and very
deadly or painful for close quarters combat, in the event that you loose control of your primary weapon. For home defense, in the closed quarters of a room, especially at night, the muzzle blast is deafening and the flash is blinding,(almost like a flash/bang grenade) the little short barreled pistol is much more than it appears. Though the sight of the little pistol is not very impressive, but one shot to a major joint will be very painful, where as a head or heart shot could be fatal. If you every get a chance to shoot these little pistols the mussel blast feels like some one throwing sand in your face and after the 2nd shot your ears will be ringing. Now that is from behind the gun, just imagine what it is like from in front. If you use the new Hornady Critical Defense ammunition which was is made for especially for short barrel guns, the possibly of of collateral damage is greatly reduced, were as penetration is increased and so is the bullet expansion. The little 45 grain bullet leaves the barrel at over 1,000 feet per second.
