“Monsters Inside Me” officially has a premiere date. The episodes will start on Friday October 5th at 8pm Eastern on Animal Planet. The one featuring John Tull and Lucinda Marker is named (if you can believe it) “My Child Will Only Eat Cat Food.” If you are interested, I would check the schedule on the Animal Planet website to make sure.

From the man who does not watch TV.

I am just kidding.

I will have to check it out. Actually I have been planning to give up cable as I do not watch it much at all but I never get around to it.

Flying-Dutchman, it's true. AP will not give us a CD of the program until after it airs. That is the only way we can see it.

AP must get a kick out of that but then probably a lot of people on TV do not watch it.

They say when you watch TV you are watching other people live their lives.

I do like the old movies though.

You don't know the story about Jtull7 ?

He is the toughest guy you will ever meet. He wrestles Tigers, stops 10mm rounds with his bare hand, and catches the plague for fun.

:whistling:

Anyway Jtull7, I glad its airing , I will definately be checking it out.

AP is presenting three episodes that night. I believe the "cat food" title only applies to the first segment. Ours appears to be the third segment. Our story has nothing to do with cat food. Sorry for the confusion.

I doubt there are many nerds sitting around Animal Planet itching to be the first to smuggle out screeners of "Monsters Inside Me". You probably won't find it on the internet before the air date.

Its a two-for-one now. We get to see your story, and we get to find out whats up with the family eating cat food

jtull7 - I don't mean to pry, but I'm curious. Does Animal Planet pay you for this, and if so, round about how much?

Scary! The show had to move along in order to tell the story in 20 minutes. But I'm wondering how much did the Dr. struggled with the diagnosis? The show made is seem that he jumped on it. It's so rare that It seems to me he made a very quick, life-saving, decision.

paynter2, Doctor Primus, who remains a good friend, is a travel doctor. He is, therefore, an expert on weird, esoteric diseases. If we had gone to a normal General Practitioner, we would have both died.

When we went to the NYC hospital and said that Dr. Primus sent us and we had the bubonic plague, the entire hospital, immediately and with a responsible vengeance, went into it's post 911 bioterrorist drill. CNN initially called us bioterrorists, but backed down when we explained that to be infected, one had to be bitten by a flea from Northern New Mexico.

The CDC had 40 people at our house the next day. Amazing response. Found no fleas in or house or on our dogs, but, of course, found many rodents with the plague on our five acres. Which we were well aware of prior to the incident.

Just watched the episode with my wife. having read your story a few times, it was quite different seeing you and Lucinda telling the story "in person". I was just telling my wife I could never come up with the right words to say to you, but I think you have an amazing wife and story to share.

I assume the CDC wiped out the rats on your property and surrounding area.

I've had rats at a chicken house, they can be hard to get rid of. Cool animals. Smart, and even the wild ones can become like pets if left alone. Not saying I petted any. But when I didn't hunt them for a couple weeks, and wife just went about her chicken feeding like they weren't there, the rats get used to you and no longer run away. They get brave fast. But if you hunt them, they get smart fast. But they seem to keep coming back, keeping up with their breeding.

Removing the chickens and the feed and replacing with poison for a few months seems to have worked.

Funny, I had chickens for 10 years without any rats. But suddenly they moved in, dug in, and took hold under a large chicken house of 20 chickens.

I shot over 50 rats, and probably poisoned another 50. Only caught about 10 in traps. It was the Summer of the rat.

jtull7
12-24-2012, 16:28
ithaca, we have no rats, other than packrats. What we do have is rabbits, ground squirrels, mice, and prairie dogs. They all carry the plague. Santa Fe County, which is the epicenter of the plague in all of North America, is 1,911 square miles. Much bigger than Rhode Island. Our house is on five acres.

The is no conceivable way that the CDC, or anybody else, could wipe out the rodents on our property and surrounding area.
