View Full Version : Prayers For My Mother
Prayers and good thoughts for my mom would be appreciated. Two weeks ago my Mother had surgery for pancreatic cancer a procedure called the Whipple. Everything that could go right went right. No spread of the cancer and they were able to get it all with clean margins.
That's the good news. That night after the surgery she suffered two heart attacks. Now they have discovered that she will require triple bypass which is scheduled for this coming Monday.
Mom is 70 years old and tough as nails but I'm worried. Please send out your prayers for Her.
HEY BO , will do - prayers to you and your family for a good outcome my friend . :wavey::wavey:
Prayers sent. tom.
I'm sorry, Bo. I am thinking of you and Mom.
Prayers for your mom. It is good that they found the cancer and were able to remove it.
We will keep your entire family, and especially mom in our thoughts and prayers Bocephus.

Prayers sent and to all that matter!I lost my mother in 88 and still miss her !
Prayers sent for y'all.
My dad had the Whipple in December at UAB. The surgery went great and the Dr said it was the smallest tumor that he had removed (9mm). He was in and out of the hospital for 6 weeks due to complications, mostly is gut not "waking back up". When it did wake up, he improved greatly. Now, he has gained his weight back and is back to normal.
Again, I'm praying for all of you.
I hope she will be okie dokie my friend:angel:
Prayers sent my friend. I have a mother with serious health issues and I know your concerns. Praying that all is well for them both.
Wow, prayers sent. Now that's getting hit hard.
Best wishes for a complete recovery. It's great they were able to get all the cancer, and if you've got to go and have a heart attack, the hospital is certainly the best place to do it!
My mom most likely had one right after her cancer surgery, but it was minor enough that they only found it on a later EKG. I clearly recall her telling them that she had chest pain and the doc looking at the monitors and saying " oh no, everything is fine, it's just the morphine". :brickwall:
Well they had to postpone the bypass surgery due to a rupture of part of the original incision from the Whipple. They are treating her at Vanderbilt for that and hope to be able to do the bypass sometime next week. Luckily there was no infection in the incision.
Here we go again, hurry up and wait.
Prayers and best wishes for her recovery.
Prayers her way.
I sure will include your Mom in my evening prayer.
Mine is 71 and struggling with some health issues as well (for a long time), so that prayer will be for our Moms tonight.
Stay strong there.
Hope all goes well.
Prayers said for you and your mom, and her medical team.
I sincerely hope all goes well for your Mom. God Bless her.
Mine passed away unexpectedly at 40 yo. My folks were divorced when I was 12, and I had just found her a few weeks before she passed. I miss her like it was yesterday.
Thanks Y'all I appreciate it!
Prayers sent, hope it all turns out well.
Prayers for your Mother, you, and your family.
prayers send your way, I'm a Pancreatic cancer survivor for two years now, you mom will do fine, don't let her give up, God bless.
Prayers going up, for sure! Really hoping things fall into place and she can recover completelt. My own mom had a triple a little over a year ago and she looks fantastic now. Wish she'd one it years ago, and hope your dear mom has the same result. Please keep us updated.
Hey Bocephus you hang in there and tell your mom to do the same. Tell her she has all kinds of people praying for her speedy recovery and a LENGTHY, healthy life. You all stay strong. I know it's hard at times like this, but GOD will give you the strength you need to be there for your mom and family.
I was in a similar situation with my mom years ago. She has a family history of Heart Disease. Well that day happened. She started having pains in her jaw and shoulder blade. She went straight to the hospital. They called me right after they admitted her. My sister and I were scared to death. Lord only knows the fear my mom was suffering through. After we were told that she definitely had a heart attack, her doctor told her that she could consider this as a warning sign that most people don't get. She was to have a stent the next morning. I had been praying for good news the whole time. At points like that it's hard to recognize what is good news. Only having 1 vessel blocked was great news.
The next morning we all went to the hospital to await the stent implantation. I was standing outside the heart cath lab by myself just looking out the window at the world going by as though not a thing was wrong. My world inside that hospital felt like it was crumbling at my feet. I had cried the whole night before and done more praying. I think I asked for prayers here too. It did give me great comfort to know that total strangers cared enough to take a moment out of their day and say a prayer for my mom and my family. As I stood there at that window while my mom was about to go into having the stent procedure I just looked up at the sky and told GOD that I couldn't handle this anymore and that I needed him right then and there. I asked for my moms outcome to be great and for strength of spirit and faith for me.
I don't know how to explain it, but at that very moment I felt something wash over my body. I didn't hear any voices or anything like that, just a sense that something had happened. Right after that I was calm as I could be, I felt as though I didn't have a worry in the world. Something just told me that I didn't have to worry any more that GOD was with us. It was a feeling of calm and serenity that I had never felt before or since. I KNEW that my mom was going to come out fantastic, I just knew it as if it were already a fact. Well that's exactly what happened. My mom came out wonderful and has been great since despite having 3 more stents put in. NONE of them experienced any type of narrowing.
It was that day that I KNEW beyond any doubt that prayer works. I felt it, I experienced it and I believe in it.
I pray that YOU have the exact same kind of experience and feeling as I had that day in the hospital. I pray that your mom will come out of that place being better than she has been in many years and will have a VERY LONG and VERY HEALTHY life with all of her family.
All my best.
Sorry for getting sidetracked.
