There's a funny story about the origin of that car. The plan was to build a semi=luxury sedan by buying the Cord dies and making a few changes, like rear wheel drive, no hideaway headlights, and a few other cost reducing alterations.

They broke open the box of goodies and almost crapped their pantaloons. The biggest body die Cord owned was about eighteen inches square. The front fenders were about seven pieces of metal welded together. The roof was more than that.

There was a reason most metal roofs had the fabric insert in the roof. No one had dies big enough to stamp a one piece roof. GM was about the first production cars with a one piece steel roof.

Anyway, they sorted it out and Graham and Huppmobile charged ahead.

Yep on the heels of ACD going out of business. Of course, the Holywood and Skylard look "Cordish."

the most cordish of all is the 1939 Hupmobile Skylark Corsair convertible.
