Well, after careful consideration my next 9mm is going to be a Gen 3 G17. I suppose I like Glocks quite a bit since this is my 4th one! I ordered it a couple of days ago for $564.00. That's the TOTAL price WITH Trijicon night sights, and shipping!

My previous 9mm purchase a couple of months ago was a Smith & Wesson M & P 9. I guess I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great little shooter, I just don't know that I'll be buying another one.

By the way, before I placed my order my choices were narrowed down to an HK P30, Springfield XDm, and the Gen 3 G17. :wavey:

Hope you enjoy your G17 and that it gets there quickly.

I'm just curious. Did you consider any other makes/models before deciding on the G17, and if so what were they?

You made a great choice. My Gen 3 G17 has over 20K rounds through it. Although not the most expensive handgun that I own, it is probably my favorite. Congrats!

I just picked up a Gen 3 17 FDE a couple months ago as well. Before that I had an XD 9 that I didn't care for, hate the six o clock hold. Before the XD I had an M&P 9C, the grip was too short for me and there was no rhyme or reason to how it grouped on paper. Was originally looking for a 19 but got a good deal on the 17 locally. The 17 fits my XD carry holster and despite being bigger carries better than the XD. Personally I think the Rugers are ugly and didn't like the way they felt, if I ever try another poly it'll be an FNX.

I own quite a few pistols and have shot many more from pretty much all of the major manufacturers. For me, the simple fact is that Glocks work the best... I've tried to find something "better" for a long time, and nothing has worked better for me from HK to S&W for this purpose (full size 9mm "combat pistol"). I'm more consistent and accurate with it than any other pistol I own, except maybe my 19 :tongueout:

I can't argue with you at all! The fact that I own 4 Glocks, and only one of several others says a lot I suppose!

The annoying thing is that I REALLY want to like a more "prestigious" pistol (I mean, everybody has a Glock right?) but I keep coming back to Glock time after time

Those were my exact thoughts when I purchased a S&W M&P 9 a couple of months ahead of my G17 purchase. I just keep migrating back to Glock no matter how many others I own or try.
