Much to your disappointment, I fired 100-plus rounds, for the first time, flawlessly through my G17 Gen4.:wavey:

Dear Sick,

I too fired 100 round flawless rounds through my Gen417. When it hit 1000 rounds it started throwing up. It had to go back to Glock for surgery at 1500 rounds because it was throwing up so much. It returned healed; I hope you don't catch the bug, it hits at 800 to 1000 rounds. Good luck.

Glad everything went well in your first 100 rounds. However you will need to fire a lot more rounds before you will know that all is well.

This.

I am sooo not a Glock hater, but my Glock love didn't protect me at all.
:crying:

There are plenty of Gen 4 9mms that remain trouble free. I thought I had one of them until it hit about 900 rounds. I was never as bold as the OP, but I did post about my love for the perfect ejection of my Gen 4 G17 on several threads...

Congrats on your new 17. I have two Gen 4 G17's, and both have been flawless so far. Both have approximately 1k rounds through them. My Gen 3 G17 has in excess of 20k rounds so these have some catching up to do.

Well that settles it. Gen 4 Glock 17's are perfect! :goodpost:

That is just one conclusion tht can be drawn. The more important one is that no Glock can fail.

Logical inferrence is a great thing for those who know how to use it.:whistling:

My newest G19 Gen3 ran perfect for the first 1500 rounds. Now, it's ejecting brass everywhere. Hopefully, I will be able to remedy this soon. This is my only Glock, which has this ejection issue.

I've got a generation 3 Ft Lauderdale police trade in G23. I've put 160 rounds through her. I had no problems because I still own it. I own 9 handguns and they all work fine except one autoloader will FTE Blazer aluminum ammo 50% of the time.

I guess my 100-round-a-bit-overzealous post was offensive to some. And my round count laughable. Oh well.

I was just excited, hearing much about the Gen4 failures and what I experienced with my Gen4 19, to have my gun perform flawlessly the first time out. That's all nothing more. Geez, lighten up!

Anyway, I hope it continues to run flawlessly, approaching the 1000-round-plus mark. Thanks for the usual kind words.

Sick

I don't blame SickShot...I was pretty excited when I exceeded 100 rounds on my new Gen4 19 after reading all the interwebz 19 issues.

I'm not as high as most...786 rounds so far and no problems.

New Gen3 17 is another issue...first 3 mags I had brass to my forehead...even had a nice half moon shaped abrasion to my forehead from casing.

i hope you did not break the bank breaking it in.......

get back to us when you have shot about 500 more rounds, only then will you be able to tell if your gun came off of the "good" assembly line, or the "broken" one

As long as they fix the problem. I really wanted to buy an XD but with the Glock rep...I bought one....maybe I made the wrong decision....I was under the impression Glock firearms were "bullet proof". I'm old school....I might just go out and buy a Colt Govt Model .45 Series 70 (only 7 rds and one in the pipe), at this least this gives me a (woody) when shooting through car doors, etc....and it works every time. Thanks....

I agree with the lighten up statement. The only GLOCK I ever had problems with was a 36. My Gen4's run great and I have shot one round through each of them so far . Don't pay attention to the round and post counters. Some people make a BIG deal out of every small problem.Enjoy your pistol. If you do encounter a problem , then learning to keep your weapon running properly is just another fun part of the shooting hobby. It's all good man :wavey:

Thanks Gentlefolks!

tnpat, I saw the angst you caused the commandos on another thread, too funny ...I believe Lt. Col. Dave Grossman said (and I may run the risk of being "attacked" by the commandos for misquoting): "Amateurs talk hardware. Professionals talk software."

I somewhat agree with what the Col. says; however, I do appreciate the many great and informative discussions on this forum about guns, ammo, balistics and tactics. And I am no amature, I simply heart guns and all things gun related.

Berretta, I hope to get back to the range soon and put a few more rounds through but it is a money and time thing these days. When I do I will post the results!

I'm shocked that people don't tell you that you have no idea what you are doing or talking about since you are happy with your Glock. [/sarcasm]

It's almost like it is a sin to be happy with your gun here.

No seriously, I can understand the frustration if the gun doesn't work as advertised to "Perfection."

I was just REALLY happy it worked the first time out after hearing all all the negative reports.

Well now you're pushing it. I've never known a pistol to survive that much use without exploding. Especially a plastic one.

I don't think it has anything to do with hating Glock otherwise you wouldn't have a Glock. I think it is more disappointment in the pistol not working as well as older Glocks. I have a G17 Gen 3 that hasn't had a hiccup. I've got a G19 Gen 4 that has had multiple malfunctions and hits me in the face with the spent brass (I think it is fixed - new recoil spring and extractor). Otherwise, I love my Glocks.

My Gen4 G19 experienced some FTF and a stove-pipe! Got a new RSA and it has been flawless since.

Carried a Gen3 G17 for a number of years for work and it worked flawlessly with at least 1500 rounds through it.

My other Gen4 G26 and G17 have worked flawlessly. Just really happy about that performance.
