Over regulated, tree-hugging, Prius driving weenies are now complaining?

How's CARB helping right now? No matter how great the weather there is.....its not worth the cost of living there. Great place to spend a few days though.

I left NJ (CA on probation) and other than great food...never regret looking back.

I hope they keep voting Blue all the way.

I'm with you!..............California is now paying for their mistakes of lawmakers, and regulations that choke their economy and businesses. Yes, this includes their state right of gun control..........

I've spent three days of my life in California, to see my youngest brother graduate from Marine Corps Boot Camp in San Diego, back in 2001. I haven't been back, and I don't expect I ever will. Liberalism, and the damage it does to society is sickening.

You know how this goes, they'll just find a way of blaming the yield on not enough dedication to their original cause... End result, they'll lobby for more of the same crap that don't work because the crappy lifestyle that follows their cause is because we aren't doing enough of what they've proposed..

Maybe its a wake up call. They did the same thing when they had electricity hikes. Let out of state people pay for our mess, they don't live here so we'll regulate the pricing for our own benefit and screw everyone else who doesn't vote here.

Enough is enough. Pay for being green and regulating everything.

In Michigan we have proposals on amending our state constitution to
1) enshrine unions and prevent any laws that would limit them (including invalidating current ones),
2) forcing home health care workers (including family members who just take care of their loved ones) to join the union (and pay dues, of course),
3) making it unconstitutional to build an international bridge or tunnel unless it's put to popular vote (really?),
4) getting rid of the law that allows emergency managers to take over if a local government runs itself into the ground (and allows renegotiation of contracts/unions/etc.), and (of course)
5)....mandating (via constitutional amendment) an increasing percentage of sourcing of electricity from "green" sources.

CA does not have a monopoly on stupid. I really hope MI has some smarts but, as I've seen in prior elections, we have a high concentration of progressive stupid in some areas. I can't wait for them to financially sink the state worse by increasing the cost of government and the cost of energy. Well, at least I have an in-demand job and can move if the state becomes too oppressive. Grr.

I saw a list not long ago, maybe here, that had the title of every CA State Gov't agency. That list was impossibly long, state agencies that have no reason to exist. While I'm sure other states are close, about every advocacy group was able to get a toehold into state Gov't.

Most changes that come seem to be around the margins, no where close to what needs to be done. More of the same is what I expect.

As bad as California is at screwing things up with onerous environmental regulations: the one with the biggest/worst effect on California is the Federal Government.

Federal Endangered Species Act implementation has dramatically affected food production and other industries here in California.

They dont "need" to raise gas prices. Supply is fine.

California has tons of refineries. Valero, Chevron, Tesoro, Shell in the bay area, a few in Bakersfield and a couple in LA.

I used to be a systems operator for one of them. We shut down for repairs every year like clock work. The retail outlets are just price gouging.

Based on the information we are receiving here in CA, the increase in gas prices is due to a power outage at an oil refinery. It has nothing to do with the laws of the state.

Additionally, the OP is a POS. I really appreciate the wishful thinking of gas hitting $10 a gallon so I can't afford to drive to work and feed my family. Go **** yourself. I hope a Tornado blows through Forth Worth and destroys your well being.

New York went bankrupt and pleaded for a federal bailout in 1975.
Gerald Ford said no.

Is New York still there?
Did the population die a day after the bailout was denied?
Was the city abandoned by fleeing public sector workers and welfare recipients?
Seems like they solved their budget problem and went on to prosper, no?

California is not too big to fail.

Yeah. F California!

Uh, wait. Hold up.

Locally, gas is $3.80 a gallon. Wholesale (NYMEX) price is $2.90. In my state, wholesale to retail is about 60-65c. Right now it's 90c.

I'm paying 30c/gal more for gasoline because of this BS in California. Time to knock it the bleep off!

(Forget that gasoline futures are up as well. $2.90/gal is just stupid-high because of refinery issues in a non-nationwide-essential refinery system.)

What most out-of-staters don't know is that the moment you leave the large supra populated urban areas like Los Angeles and San Francisco and move inland you start to see the real California which is conservative.
If you look at a political map of California counties you will be surprised to see that 80% of the counties are Red not Blue how most people imagine.

The liberals won this State in two ways: by moving here from every corner of America in the 70's and 80's and by taking over the media, local government and education system. After they achieved key positions in education and government they started brainwashing the young generations and fostered uncontrolled illegal immigration from Mexico. This way they put millions and millions of urban dwellers on the government dole and made sure they stay that way: stupid, lazy and Democrat voting.

California is just a sneak peek of what will happen to the entire country if Obama gets reelected.

Why, what's $10/gas going to do? It's all going to be the fault of the greedy oil companies; we should tax them more to bring down the price of gas.

The reason gas in CA is so expensive - and rising - is because it isn't taxed/regulated enough, didn't you know?

No, what CA needs to set it straight is for the worst parts of it to shear clean off the country at the San Andreas fault.

Oddly, we were on Highland (before the 210 went through) and the sight of the smog literally rolling through the streets like smoke set off the conversation that landed us in North Idaho 6.5 months later.

That and the realization that we were in an area rough enough for me to have my 1911 tucked under my leg as we drove through...and we were less than an hour from our house.

Obama is not Gerald Ford.

Yeah you were up in the thick of it. Be careful hanging around the 210, they play for keeps up there. Rialto and San Berdoo particularly.

Keep up the good fight, those of you few remaining conservatives behind enemy lines in Kalifornistan.

But you deluded Kalifornicatista defenders, can you have one of these very common and popular rifles?
http://i46.tinypic.com/riy9gz.jpg

Can you carry one of these pistols, either openly or concealed?

Can you elect a Republican Senator or two?
That would really be helpful, thanks.

You must want to be the next "Road Warrior"! You better arm those Tank Trucks like Stage Coaches of the old west. 8000 gallon x $10 = $80,000 per truck. Not a bad days work for the Land Pirates.

Go ahead and steal em. We'll just fillem back up.

You can have your standard mag release and 30 rounders. I will keep my Arsenal SGL-21 CA compliant. Then when I retire at 52 years old with 92% of my salary and paid medical I will move to your state and buy all the stuff your selling. I will pay top dollar for that Elton John AK holster.

California isn't as worth saving as was New York City.

Two things:

1) California provides a whole hell of a lot more important and positive resources to and for the nation than New York.

2) the Feds should not bail out any state, not California, not New York or any other state. Period.

Commies junk. Why would Californians want to carry commies junks? That's for the Red State (commie pinko color).

Helpful for what? So that they can force religious nutjob laws down Californians' throats? No thanks.

POS here. Based on who's information? One refinery is causing that much ripple effect?

Why haven't they created jobs by building a few more? CA is over regulated to death based on Blue agendas. They did create their own electricity crisis a few years back and made it someone else's problems. Sorry, zero support for CA from me.

BTW- We had a tornado blow through Ft Worth years ago.

Additionally....having served in the USN, I served to support your right to be entitled to your own opinion. Even if its vastly different than mine. Hope you have a great day.

No, California courts would prevent that.

With Republican Senators, they might be able to help a Republican led Congress and White House open up our vast offshore oil reserves and reduce our dependence on the Middle East for oil. Create some jobs...Generate some revenue for the coffers. Show Feinstein and Boxer the door. A lot of good things could come from that.

Exxon plant has been down since Oct. 1st.

Chevron plant is at low capacity because of fire back in August.

Specialty fuel mandated by state law.

No import of fuel from out of state by state law.

Yeah I'm sure it is all caused by retailers gouging.

Facts never help on GT you should know that by now.

How did I sell my rights? I was born into these rights. I am not leaving a state where I have a career with retirement and benefits that I am VESTED in so I can carry 5 more rounds.
