I bought the Pittsburgh 301 piece mechanics set and got it for ~$172. I have to say, it's a quality set. I know that sounds crazy for something coming from harbor freight, but it is. Couple that price with a lifetime warranty, and I'm set.

I'm dying reading this! I have a friend that will drive 70+ miles to go to a Harbor Freight. Of course, any money he saves on the tool is lost on fuel costs for his gas guzzling '91 3/4 ton Dodge 4x4. He's not one to get caught up in fads like the internet. I'm going to have to print this darn thing out now so I can show it to him.

Figure out a way to slip it in with a harbor freight ad in his house and mention he saw a good deal on a Gaydar in a flyer recently.

That's a great idea! I'll bet he'll have the scissors very close at hand before he figures it out.

You guys stop laughing. Everyone needs at least one 4,500 Watt Smoke and Fume Generator to run inside thier tiny-rickety greenhouse.

Man that was funny.

Recently I got a pretty funny 'spoof' ad for HF. I also got a HF flyer in the mail with a 25% off any item coupon.

Last week I went to my nearest HF and bought a new 6# splitting maul with a fiberglass handle - got the 25% off AND a free 9-cell LED flashlight. Both work fine.

I remember a HF thread a few years ago - a guy used HF angle grinders in his work. Said they were so cheap he had to try one. He was still waiting for it to die. Is it as good as Milwaukee or Dewalt? No. I have a 10amp Dewalt - I have used it this past year - probably twice. :whistling:

Point being, HF is not all bad. Not all good, but not all bad. :wavey:

Just ordered an adjustable powerband and a wiper blade sharpener from there.
