At least he kept his distance. My brother in law whacked his pool with a golf club and almost drowned.

Damn. The most I've shot with mine is a few gallon jugs of water and a couple of pigs. Gotta step my game up.

Those pools don't last much more than a couple of seasons. It could have been on the way out.

Good thing he did not use a 10mm. It would have caused cold fusion and blown up the world.

It is only a 500, it can barely beak the skin. One step above airsoft.

More than enough water to stop the bullet.

In fact myth busters did a whole segment on shooting various calibers into water and how far they would travel.

The one that went the furthest by far was a .22.

I saw that mythbusters episode. The bullets from .223 and 7.62 broke into a bunch of pieces and did not penetrate far into water. Hand gun calibers went further into the water. I bet that 500 sw bullet broke into pieces as well.

Didn't the Mythbuster guys say you were safe if you dove deeper than 2 feet under water?

And the .50 cal Barret broke apart immediately when it hit the water. But the .22 went furthest? I could've sworn the one that went furthest was a musket? Could be wrong though.

That's because they didn't test the 10mm. :tongueout:

Water is one of those things that at low speeds is a soft place to land but at higher speeds it might as well be concrete. A liquid can not compress. Ice is nothing more than water which is moving very slowly. As well, water is very good at absorbing energy.

Yeah, but the .50 BMG emptied the pool. Nowhere to hide.
