Beat me to it.
It'll buff out.
Not bad. :laughabove:
That's gonna leave a mark.
Damage to the sonar dome......That's a pretty expensive detector array to damage. Going to cost taxpayers a big lump.
Oh, and yes, someone or both will lose their job.

How come we got so many navy ships running into each other these days? Don't they teach navigation 101 anymore?

According to the article, the sub rose to periscope depth 100-200 yards ahead of the cruiser. I guess that would be the maritime equivalent of a "brake check". :whistling:

How in the world do you manage to bring your sub up right in front of a moving ship?

Well, good thing it was a Navy sub and not one of those Air Force subs.

The one blind spot in a sub is directly overhead and 100-200 yards is an inch to those boys. Don't ask me how I know because then I'll have to terminate you!
A collision at sea can ruin your whole day...

If I demonstrate "exigent circumstances", will you just bore me to death?
Sounds like the sub ran a STOP sign. . . .

The sub was just trying to recreate the scene from "Last Resort" where the sub surfaced under the boat of Navy Seals and picked it up out the water on it's back.

In 2001 a US sub surfaced under a Jap fishing boat sinking it.

Didn't that one "blow ballast" and come up very fast?
