If Laurie is bit, or dies for some reason, will her baby become a zombie too?

Yeah, I know. I have too much time on my hands.

I would think that if she is bit, she will die. Logic dictates that when she dies, her body cant support life so her baby would die also. So she would probably walk around as a zombie with a live baby in her for a few minutes, but it will die due to lack of oxygen eventually.

Then she would be a zombie with a zombie inside of her! The baby zombie wouldnt have teeth to eat its way out so it would probably be in there for a long time until decomposition allows it to find its way out.

Even then, an infant zombie has no teeth so it cant eat flesh. Even its exposed jaw bone wouldnt be sharp enough to feed on human flesh.

It would just crawl around harmlessly Im guessing.

Im bored too as you can see. lol

A pregnant female Zombie is looking forward to eating both, the baby and the placenta. But that kinda drama is bad taste and will not be filmed.

This situation was brought up by Lori in tonight's episode. Sense anyone who dies returns as a walker, it is kind of like who came first-the chicken or the egg?

Doubtful the baby will become a walker.

Crawler, maybe. :dunno:

Can a zombie's body support a baby?

Can a zombie's body support a baby?

It depends.
I know, you don't like that answer.

Was the father of the child a (potential) Zombie at the time of conception?

How well fed is the mother zombie during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy? ... a lot of factors come into play.

As far along as she is the baby could probably survive if it was born after she died......getting it out would be the kicker. That's what it looks like they are setting up for. The What If?

These aren't Zombies transmuted by bites. The bites just speed up you dying. Everyone will turn in the end.

CERT(S)... weren't those the tasty little fresh mints with retsin crystals in them that came in rolls wrapped in gold colored foil? Do they even still sell those? :rofl:Just kidding. When I was a Corrections Officer the CERT guys were usually all the wannabe-military flunkies who thought they were all the "Special Forces" of the correctional system. They were kind of a joke. I'm sure it's not that way in all states, I'm sure many other correctional systems had better CERT organizations than we did.

With that said... it will be interesting to see how the "Lori - baby thing works out.

More importantly if Lori turns into a zombie, will she finally know where Carl is?

Chris Hardwick on The Talking Dead has a joke that if the baby comes out of Lori and then tries to get into Andrea, we'll know it was Shane's.

It will have zombie virus specific antibodies, from which they well develop a vacciene.

I guess I am missing something....if they all already have the virus, what is the problem with being bitten other than it being a wound?

maybe being bitten or scratched up gets you sick and you die from a bad infection. i think someone in season one died from an infection after being bit. they tied him to a tree or something.

and i also think the baby will have the cure. just gotta find someone with some lab equipment since the cdc done blew up.

also, why do they keep wasting time at the fence. just stab every zombie through the head, why lead them off or keep any alive.

[QUOTE=Chowser;19549377]maybe being bitten or scratched up gets you sick and you die from a bad infection. i think someone in season one died from an infection after being bit. they tied him to a tree or something.

Viral infections can trigger various immune response. A very low viral load (being sneezed on) may allow the virus to enter the body, but not trigger a fatal infections. Similar to herpes virus remaining in the victims neurons. However, a large viral load (bite) may cause tissue necrosis and a much more virulent response. This exposure may cause death. It is a possibility the virus started as an airborne infections that spread globally without clinical signs or symptoms. Only after did the first people to die for unrelated causes started to turn. Thus leading to the pandemic.
