I have a DDM4 with an Aimpoint PRO on it, and I would like to have a 3x magnifier for shooting longer every now and then. I don't know if I would use it enough to justfy well over 500 bucks on a top notch one. then again I could fall in love with it and use it all the time. You guys are usually pretty dialed in on good opinions when it comes to these things IME. How do the 100 dollar 3x function? Is one worth buying?

I have a Primary Arms Deluxe 3X magnifier in their FTS mount behind one of my EoTech XPS 2-0 sights and it works great. I just bought it to try and I haven't been able to break it in 2-3 years of chasing hogs with it. It is far from top quality but it is functional.

Our new 3X long eye relief has been our most popular new product ever. Good glass, rear focus to adjust to your eyes. Work great in the LaRue flip or we bundle it with the ADM swing away mount.

I'd LOVE to see a side by side comparison between the $30 ebay models (which I purchased a while back), versus the more expensive models. The el-cheapo model seems to work OK based on my tests at the range. From what I hear, the eye relief of the more expensive models is supposed to be better....but no one seems to have a side by side review of each. I just don't get spending $150+ on a low power magnifier. If it were a SCOPE that had higher magnification, yeah sure, maybe....

MARSH1 quick kudos to you guys. I ordered 3 pmags at 11:00pm on Sat. I literally tripped over them this morning when I was taking out the garbage. They were already sitting against my front door like little forest elves had quietly delivered them.

Sorry for the derail. Now returning to the optics thread.

Looks great! I have been thinking about dropping six bills on the Aimpoint Magnifier with pivot mount, this looks like a more reasonable option.

I tried the sightmark 3x on mine. I hated it. No eye relief at all. Plus, I couldn't stand having something cheap on my gun.

I would go with Primary Arms. Marshall stands behind his stuff.

I like the Primary arms stuff, nothing bad to say about any of their 3 products I have bought.

My bad. Saw the "3x..." and it was the first thing that came to mind.

I assume this magnifier would work well with an EoTech XPS2? No height issues?

ADM makes a lower version of the mount that will line up better with your absolute CW EOTech. Do you have a rear flip? Might not clear.

I might have to try this. $200 seems much better than $550 that EOTech offers.

The EXPS2 is a raised EoTech (lower 1/3rd co-witness).

I have a Magpul rear flip-up. I'm pretty sure it will clear. I've seen photos of this arrangement but not sure what type of magnifier mount was used. I'm assuming it will be just like in the photo you posted of the Aimpoint with magnifier.

Yes the photo and link are for the correct mount for your EXPS.

The low(standard) mount Primary Arms fts mount is what I use and it works great.

More of our std height flips are scheduled to ship late this month. That would put them in stock mid next month, if they ship on time and that is a big if. The tall ADM works fine but the look of the height difference bottlers some people.

Awesome thanks guys. Just signed up to see what larues LE discount is to maybe go with one of their mounts with the PA long relief magnifier. Now I just need marsh to give me a sweet discount lol. Oh and Trav I couldn't quite tell, do you have a flip up sight under your magnifier? Looked like maybe and I'm curious if my mbuis will still fit under it.

LaRue's LE discount is 10%.

Yes I have the primary arms standard height flip mount and yes there is a MBUS under it. I'll take a better picture when I get home tomorrow.

I would either go with the Primary Arms 3x or the Vortex 3x with the ADM Mount, the mount that comes with the Vortex is an absolute co witness height mount. Either one is GTG for a budget magnifier, and both have iron clad warrantyies

+1. Primary Arms is the best deal out there. Good quality.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I'm in the same boat. Debating on getting a budget red dot ie: Lucid HD7 or Primary Arms along with a PA-type mag. Or break bread on an EoTech EXPS2-0 (comes w/ QD mount 7mm riser for lower 1/3 CW) and a PA 3XLER. I have a Magpul Gen 2 BUIS which is supposed to be lower profile. Should be good to go?

Marshall: Can you confirm if the set up I'm wanting will jive w/ the EoTech EXPS2-0 lower 1/3 CW?

Much appreciated.

Very tempting! Looks about perfect for my CMMG .22 lr dedicated build.

Anyone have a Vortex Strikefire who could comment on its quality? Can you see the dot in bright sunlight?
