Hey a quick question, I am a resident of SC and have a valid SC CWP. I am coming into a pretty large sum of money and am looking to buy probably 3-4 handguns and a few long guns as well. What if any are the limits on the number of handguns that can be purchased in a given time period.

thanks

No SC restrictions that I know of, but there are federal reporting requirements for multiple purchases in a certain time period, if bought from the same place. Buying from different places gets around that. Don't remember the specifics of the reporting.

I don't think there are any restrictions. I've bought two at a time before, more than once, without any fuss.

Probably take some digging to find an answer. Try the various gun law websites, and the SC code.

That's because it's Kalifornian. :whistling:

I don't know about any restrictions in your state, so best of luck to you.

I thought there was a 1 gun every 30 days law in SC. I'm not sure though - I've never had enough "disposable money" to purchase more than one gun every 30 days anyway.

Two guns from same ffl in five days must be reported to ATF.

Years ago when I was buying guns more frequently than now, and my then FFL was 1hr and 40 miles away, I would buy a gun online (here for example), have it shipped to my FFL, and then when time/my schedule allowed I would close the deal by filling out the 4473/etc.

In one instance I have 10-12 guns on hold and picked them up.

A few days later the FFL told me some folks from the ATF paid him a visit to inquire about my large quantity purchases. Since I was only hitting my guy 1-2x a year I guess everything turned out ok.

What does 1 gun every 30 days really accomplish except for hurting small businesses?

Sanford repealed that a few years ago.

I have purchased several handguns at once and never had an issue. I was talking to my FFL while picking up a pistol and the customer ahead of me was picking up 10+ guns that he bought on line at once and he had no issues either. My FFL told me after that customer left that the feds came by his shop asking questions about this customer tho.

That law was done away with ~3 years ago.

I bought three in one day with no problems what so ever. (2 at one place, 1 at another.)

You're good to go.

Enjoy, and congrats!

And the post debate buying begins.

If you buy more then one pistol they fill out a sheet. No big deal. (maybe SC is different) Your local FFL should know.

:faint:

SC... you know, South Carolina... one of the original 13 colonies... where the civil war started...the state. There are 49 of them in the United States other than California. If you're in California and you go in a straight line you will eventually reach a place which is not California.

Here's another one.

NH= New Hampshire.

It also means cash and carry for as many firearms as you want, as often as you want, in any caliber you want, with no capacity restrictions, and with no waiting period.

It really doesn't accomplish anything, it's just a way of harassing gun owners/buyers. Every little thing they can do to harass gun owners is a small victory for the socialist/communist immature mind.
