A little smashy, but no big deal...took maybe 20 minutes. Images will be reviewed Monday.
We are a little more relaxed up here, so she let me see the films. Looks like a shower of stars in there. And I refuse to get gacked out about it.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but a 'shower of stars' isn't necessarily okay. It could be calcifications that are a byproduct of cancer. My wife's mamogram looked like you shook salt on the image and showed no "lumps." It doesn't always show up on a mamogram; CT and/or PET scans are what will show masses (even if the mamogram doesn't). I don't want to worry you, but I don't want not completely correct information out there.
However, don't spend time worrying over uncertainties. Your mind can be your worst enemy. Your doctors will determine what it is, and you most likely will have worried yourself silly over nothing. Without a diagnosis there is no need to cause unnecessary mental stress.

Got the call - no malignancies noted, come back next year.
Now on to the next drama....new knee surgeon consult on 11/07. Gettin old ain't for sissies.

I have lost many relatives to breast cancer. Their's was found during a self-exam, so please don't forget to do that.

Got the call - no malignancies noted, come back next year.
Now on to the next drama....new knee surgeon consult on 11/07. Gettin old ain't for sissies.

I have lost many relatives to breast cancer. Their's was found during a self-exam, so please don't forget to do that.
I wasn't doing an exam, but I found mine myself while I was showering. Since it was above the fatty tissue, I found it early, luckily.

Thank god for you. I'm not a woman, but I want them to know a mammogram is not enough. I wish my gf would listen to me.

Did you know men can get breast cancer? My boss (male) is dealing with it now. He carried his cell phone in his shirt pocket for many years. We don't know that that caused it but, my phone says to keep it 10mm away from my carcass.

Absolutely. And, honestly, I check myself regularly since it is rampant in my family.

Sounds like you need to get the BRC-A test to see if you're genetically pre-disposed to get it.

I've thought about that for a few years now, but it scares me to be quite honest. I figure there's not much I can do about it, plus the whole "when" factor if it's positive. I'll have to deal with things as they come anyway.
Mine was uncomfortable. I guess they have to squeeze a little harder when clamping down on a man-boob...:whistling:
They ended up surgically removing a cyst under the aureola, but it was a bit scary when I felt the lump in there...

Thankfully it was negative.
Admittedly, I'm not the bravest sole when it comes to doctors, but I would run to them if I felt something.
I had to have a lump removed/biopsied about 7 or 8 years ago now. I found it myself...but have always had "suspicious areas" on my mammograms.
Now, I have to have an ultrasound of both breasts every six months. EVEN though I KNOW it's going to happen, it still freaks me out just a little bit when I receive the letter from the Radiologist each time with the recommendations to be closely monitored.
I have always been told, since my first exams, that mine were "lumpy".
My aunt passed away about a month ago from breast cancer that returned. She was originally diagnosed in the 70's. I thought she was in complete remission. My grandmother also reportedly died of breast cancer...but my dad said she had so many other health issues, he's not positive that is the reason for her death. BUT that is on my father's side of the family.
There is cancer on my mother's side of the family, but no breast cancer.
My older sister has had similar issues to mine, but she has not
reached the point of having to have bi-annual ultrasounds yet.
Do your self-exams! And have your mammograms, ladies!

If you know, your doc can come up with more options for monitoring. Besides, you might just test negative.

Hello glad your test was negative! I had my left knee replaced one year ago. I admit I am a wimp and the first several months after the replacement were no fun. I actually wondered what was I thinking. Now I am so glad I did the deed. My rehab was an eye opener and I now go to the Health Zone three times a week. At 70 I am more active than I have been in years. Good luck and shoot safe.
