What r/d are all you guys running on your Mark III, just curious.
I was looking at the TruGlo.
What leather holsters are you guys using as well??? Trying to figure out what to get.

I have one. Not real impressed with it. Build quality is about the same as some of the cheaper tasco reddots. By that I mean just go ahead and get a cheap Tasco from CDNN. Should be about 20 bucks plus shipping.

I would say that if you really want a reddot. Find something that is red/green. The red is useless outside, while the green will show up.

The first one I bought was a Tasco with the 40mm tube, but it was to heavy for the gun, then the Tasco 30mm, then the TruGlo 30mm. The TG was about 75 bucks if I recall correctly. Seemed to be about equal to the smaller Tasco quality wise. Not much of a step up.

After couple range outings I knew they weren't for me and invested in a better rear right.

I would say if you are going to install the rail on your gun. Put something under it to protect the finish. A thin piece of mylar or even tape would do it. I didn't and were left with two wear lines the full length of the rail.

I run an old (Japanese made) Tasco PDP3 on my 22/45, but if I were shopping today, I would likely start with the Bushnell TRS-25.

I've got a Burris Fastfire II on my MKIII, and really like the setup. Nice little red dot, lightweight, long battery life.

The Fastfire III is even better.

I have an Ultra Dot on my Mark III. I think they are the best, but they do cost more.
I have seen them mounted to 1911 slides, and they functioned perfectly.
I have had 3 or 4, and they were all perfect.

I had a Bushnell TRS-25 for a while but returned it cause I had a finance emergency... but it was a great site.

If I did it again, it would be a Burris FastFire 3

Has anyone tried the Bushnell First Strike? I, too, am interested in trying a dot on my 22/45.

I agree, if you cannot afford a Aimpoint, ultra dot make a good dot. I have used then for a couple years on both a rimfire a 38 and a 45. No issues.
I also just purchased a Bushnell TRS-25. I hope it's a good one!

Parallax is the killer on these cheaper red dots.

I love my Ultradot Matchdot. It's reliable and battery life is excellent. 4 adjustable reticle sizes from 2 MOA to 8 MOA. Adjustable intensity.
