View Full Version : Caviar.
Would any of you happen to know how much difference there is in the taste of lower priced Caviar as opposed to more expensive? I've had lower priced Caviar and loved it, but I'm wondering if I should go with a tad more expensive stuff:headscratch::supergrin:
If you've had the lower priced caviar and liked it, stick with it.
Trader Joe's has $20 refrigerated jars around the Thanksgiving/Christmas and I like that better than the shelf jars at the grocery stores, but I wouldn't buy it all the time.
I do like the whitefish caviar on the shelf better than the lumpfish, it tends to be less salty. Sometimes they have the bigger egg salmon caviar on the shelf, I like that as well.
If I'm feeling ambitious, I'll rinse the jar on shelf caviar in a sieve and that takes away what I feel is too much salt.
For my dad's 75th birthday, I ordered some of the Sevruga at $100 a jar or some ridiculous price. We really didn't enjoy it any more than the Trader Joe refrigerated caviar.
Perhaps I need to get some of the outlawed Beluga. :dunno:
The cheap Walmart caviar is full of fish eggs!!!:fishing:
Hope you're having the best caviar now, sir.
