And hello G30! I just qualified for my department on my G30 today. Very happy as it's easier for me to carry off-duty. I've had the weapon for about 5 months now. Such an impressive piece. Had to share with my fellow Glock enthusiasts. And before anyone asks, no I'm not getting rid of 17, just going to be used for home now.

There is something to be said about a compact pistol.

I like the G30 alot. Sometimes I wish it was just a bit thinner when I am carrying it, but it does shoot nicely.

Yeah, I love how it shoots. The first time I fired it, I was like "Is that it?" I expected, having never shot a .45 before, it to be like holding a cannon when it was going off. I went to the range today and my groupings were nice. A buddy of mine (who loves anything other then Glocks) was telling me how much recoil it must have in comparison to a metal frame weapon like his 1911. Laughed out loud at how wrong he was.

Ya, I was pretty amazed the first time I shot a 30, actually shocked. To me 45s are generally soft shooters, but it literally felt like the 30 was softer shooting than my full size 1911s.

I like it enough to have a G30 on my card also. Out of curiosity what is your duty choice?

Yes, it was/is my duty choice. As I'm assigned to the corrections department right now, ultra high capacity is not necessary right now, and 10+1 of .45 with 3 fully loaded mags on me is enough for me. Now if/when I make Sheriff's police, I might consider something (another glock)else.

Congrats on the G30.

I however would not give up ANY of my G17's. I am interested in a G30SF and I'm wondering what the G30S is going to be like.

Have you tried the G-36? Single stack, thin and with the right mag a 7 shot. I carried a 1911A1 for most of 20 years and all it had in the mag was 7 rounds.

My G30 is one of my best shooters...I had one of the defective G30SF's and sent it back to Glock in exchange for a new G30...Awesome gun..!!

I must be lucky in this, my G30SF hasn't had any issues.

Just dropped a G30 in layaway as an early birthday present for myself. I've wanted on since I bought my G21 three years ago. I've shot other guns but nothing is as sweet as my big G21 and if the G30 is half the gun that is, I'll be tickled pink! Can't wait to bring her home!
