I've got another rifle to outfit. It's an M4gery, and currently holds an old school 1st gen. telestock.

I want something different. I'm leaning towards Magpul, but it seems like everybody is running that.

Throw some ideas at me. Like the title says, pictures are great.

Please just don't post a picture without stating the maker.

If you want to, state why you prefer your choice over other stocks on the market.

Thanks fellow GTers! :wavey:

B5 SOPMOD stock, one of the newer Magpul designs (ACS-L or STR), or get your hands on a 93B from somewhere.

The B5 is pretty nice looking.

In my experience, it's not the "teeth" between the storage tubes and main body (on the VLTOR) that cause the beard snags, but the gap between the inner stock body and the buffer tube. A strip of tape around the tube cut to match up with the forward edge of your stock will fix that problem.

Magpul MOE. Around $50 and does the job it was intended to. I have a CTR stock and don't feel the friction lock is worth the extra money and although I do like the QD slot, paracord is a cheap substitution.

There's a reason a lot of people run Magpul stocks.

Ive got a CTR, ACS, STR on three different guns and they're all very good stocks that lock up solid when the friction lock is used. They are just about as solid as a fixed stock. My personal favorite of the three is the STR due to the lower weight vs the ACS and the battery storage vs the CTR which has no storage option. The biggest advantage of it is the cheek weld which IMHO is the most comfortable I've ever felt and is even better than a fixed stock AK, which for me used to be the most comfortable cheek weld of any rifle.

If you're interested Ill part with the ACS for a good price since it's just sitting on a gun I rarely shoot.

Rogers super stock

I've replaced both my Magpul CTR and MOE stocks with the Rogers.

A also own a couple of guns with the Magpul UBR but those are more precision rifles and I like the weight and fixed cheek for those applications.

I like the standard mil-spec stock (below) or the SOPMOD shown above. I like this one for being as light as possible and the SOPMOD for pure comfort and an awesome cheek weld.

Nope. Really doesn't matter if it can justify itself.

I like that Magpul STR listed above, too.

I have an LMT SOPMOD on my SBR and it is great too.

The CTR is a good choice as well.

Magpul is making several new models now. I have CTRs on most, and an ACS and ACS-L. The STR is pretty slick if you like the CTR, but want a bigger cheek weld. I really like the ACS-L. Storage, solid cheek weld, but not too fat. I'll get some pics up later.

The MagPul CTR is a VERY solid & affordable choice!

I am a big fan of CTRs, and have them on both my ARs. Who cares if a lot of people have them, they are great stocks!

I've used just about every stock out there and I ended up going back to a regular Colt waffle stock and an A2 grip. When I'm actually running the gun, I've never noticed a little wobble, I don't need a big cheeck-weld and I don't need qd swivels.

B5 SOPMOD stock
The B5 is a great option, at a fraction cost of an LMT SOPMOD.

Are those some Chinese knock-offs, or what? They look identical.

And...while I'm on the subject:

I've been looking on eBay. Is there any REAL difference in the Magpul stuff that's for Airsoft and real gun use? The **** looks indentical, yet is advertised as "Magpul PRS".

I don't plan to take it to war, yet, I want reliable as can be.

It's plastic...it slides over a metal housing... What gives? :dunno:

B5 won the contract for the Crane stock a while back, if I remember right. So, they're completely legit, just not the original manufacturer.

I get the feeling the PRS stuff is made from a less expensive and less durable polymer, but I'm not sure. Either way, buy the real deal.

Ummmm....no. They are American made to the same specs as LMT. B5 has the same defense contract as LMT.... ... they just prefer to offer their product at much less of a mark-up so consumers benefit.

Cool. That'll probably complete the rifle (minus a new grip, Magpul FTMFW)!
