I just noticed 12 round magazines for the G26. Was this at one point stock or is this a aftermarket magazine? My 26 came with 10 round mags and thats all I have heard of them coming with. Why doesnt it come with the 12 rounders?

The Glock-manufactured 12-shot magazine for the G26 is just a 10-shot mag with a "+" floorplate extension. This is what it looks like:

It is easy to make a twelve round G26 magazine but a bit harder to conceal.

Keep your 10 round magazine and just carry a glock 19 or 17 round magazine as a back up.

The extension takes nothing away from concealment. I recommend the x-grip extension and the pachmayr tactical grip glove to make it perfect.

Wifey has Glock factory +2 extensions. They conceal fine, add a pinky grip and 2 more rounds.

I just got a 19 mag and an XGrip for my 26, mainly for the range and nightstand.

To the best of my knowledge, G26 has never been offered with the 12-round mags. They are an after-market accessory.

I own one, and I am not as fond of it as some of the others answering your question. My wife went to buy me a spare mag for a birthday present not long after I got the pistol, and the salesman talked her into the 12-rounder instead of the stock mag. I carry it in my pocket for a backup mag, mostly because she got it for me, and I shoot it at the range, but I actually shoot the little pistol a bit better with the 10-round mags.

There are factory 12 round G26 mags available...

You can buy Glock factory +2 extensions and you can buy Glock factory 12 round magazines. I have both and both work flawless. Even with the 12 round magazine, the Glock 26 conceals well.

:thumbsup:Agreed. I have a Pearce +1 extension on both my stock G26 mags and it only adds about a 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch to the weapon and in no way hinders concealment.

Thanks guys. I just ordered two G19 mags and one G17 mag. Saw the 26 12 round mag and was curious

That is one big plus with the 26. I can just pop a 19 mag in it too and it's good to go

I have both and like them both. The ten rounders are great in a Nemesis in a cargo pant pocket and the twelve are great for carry on the belt. I expected that the 12 would help me shoot better but either the two grips are equal or there is no help for me because at 25 yards I don't see any difference.

Yes, you can buy Glock OEM (+) base plate assemblies, or the whole mag with the (+) baseplate, anyway mine all hold thirteen rounds comfortably and I load and shoot them with thirteen rounds, no issues, on a monthly basis.

Just fyi, you can get the Glock factory plus 2 magazine for the G27, but only one round fits.

I have 2- Glock +2 bases on two of my G26 mags. One in the pistol, one on the belt. Easily concealable, shorter barrel than a G19, but with the +2 bases not much shorter than a G19.

During the late mag ban (1994 to 2004), Glock did make a '12 round' G26 mag for law enforcement use and thus marked for 'LE/GOVT use only'. It was simply a 10 round mag with the + floorplate, but since it held 12 rounds, it had to marked so to comply with the law.

I presume they still sell G26 mags configured the same way, but not LE marked, and not included with new guns.

Yeah, that's it. My gun came with those and night sights, part of a package for cops attending a Gunsite law enforcement pistol instructor course. I think around 1997. My gun is the Gen 2.5. I've ordered a few more over the years and all were the 10 round mags with the extension already attached. I've also seen the extensions/inserts available seperately for addition to oem 10/9 round 26/27/33 magazines. This gun shoots so well with these mags, I can't imagine having my pinky dangling loose or tucked under the mag base plate. In this configuration, even the hot +P ammunition recoil is easily managed.

Question: Is the length of the spring on the OEM 12 round magazine the same length as the spring on the 10 round magazine?

Take a Factory 10 round mag, add a +2 Mag Bottom to it and BINGO, you've got a 12 round mag. All 3 of my 10 round G26 mags have the +2 bottoms on em' now which gives me not only 2 extra rounds but a nice place for my pinky. IMHO it's the best way to carry and shoot the G26.

Also, from what I understand the mag spring in all the Glock mags with the exception of the the 33 round "extra capacity" mag are all the same. 10 round G26, 15 round G19 or 17 round G17.

Yup.

The G26 mag spring is the same 9 coil spring as used in the G19 mag....it's plenty strong enough.

I just bought two +2 Glock OEM magazines. This simple step up in capacity and grip length converts my G26 to the ideal concealed carry size.
