Just to possession of new G17 Gen 3.
When manually pulling back
slide before dry firing I
sometimes notice a squeaky noise
coming from the recoil spring.
Otherwise works fine.
(Haven't taken it to the range yet.)
Is this normal for a new G17?

Yes. No need to worry.

It'll stop with use....and a little oil helps....it's rubbing on the bottom of the barrel.

It's not safe to listen to the springs without hearing protection.:whistling:

Nothing to worry about. That said, I have found that if I put tiny drops of Militec-1 all the way down the guide rod, use compressed air to distribute it and blow off the excess, it gets rid of that squeak. I only do it once and it will last the life of the spring.

Lock the slide back to expose the plastic rod. Use a q-tip to spread a tiny amount of gun oil all around the rod. Should be good to go after that.
