New owner of a late model gen3 26 other than the btf which is really disappointing something i noticed is with +p ammo it is shooting 6''-8''lower than standard 115gr range ammo using same sight picture, hold ,stance ect welcome all replies

What specifically are the two ammos you're shooting? That info would at least give GT members some reference points.

It is normal for a faster bullet to shoot lower from a handgun, all else being equal. Why? The gun starts to recoil before the bullet leaves the muzzle. In fact, the muzzle starts to rise as soon as the bullet starts to move. The more time it has to do so, the higher the gun will be pointing when the bullet exits.

I am surprised, however, that there is that much difference in such a short barrel. What range to target are we talking about?

I don't shoot much +P, but I do shoot 2 loads with 115 grain bullets. One moves about 1000 fps, and the other is around 1240. The lighter load hits in the neighborhood of 3" to 5" higher at 25 yards depending on the gun.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue with this pistol?

started with federal champion 115 super accurate first shot took out the x with btf oh well, next wwb still right on the money with better ejections so far so good i'm thinking i can probably live with the ejection pattern, next up ranger 124+p,GS 124+p,ranger sxt 147,hornady 147tap,win nato 124,rws124 I tried to run a good variety of ammo because this was to be my new carry gun just never noticed hotter loads shooting different point of impact with other guns

You must be anticipating the recoil as a 124+P will not shoot almost 1" per yard lower than standard 115gr. range ammunition. dhgeyer is correct.

Have someone load the gun for you but not tell you what ammo is in the gun. Shoot the gun and let us know how it goes.

If you keep grouping low with +p after a lot of practice you could install a taller(6.9) rear sight.

All things that have been said are plausible.. Have someone else duplicate the problem.

I want to thank everyone for the replies please keep them coming guess i just need more time with my carry ammo I don't think i ever had this problem with my G21 regardless of ammo, i think i will call glock about the btf

Its probably the way the subcompact fits your hand(grip) compared with the large frame 45. I've had no problem shooting my g30 out of the box but it took me alot of practice with smaller frame glocks.(26,23). I do better with the 6.9mm rear sight on my carry g26 so I just left them on.

You group seems not so much low as low/left. Typical group placement for someone jerking the trigger or anticipating recoil as they break the shot IMO.

Sounds like flinch.
