To arrest, or not to arrest... guess making that decision wasn't a hard call.
And now she's in a cell... would that be three bars or four? Do you hear me now? Hello.
I've had two calls like this where I found the people still hanging onto the cell phone. What a freakin pain in the butt call. However, the second call I had the victim was REALLY concerned about getting her phone back. I found out later that the victim had several "personal" pics she was afraid would get shared on the internet. The suspects found all of the naked pics of her on it and deleted them. They told me they took offense to the pics. Who would have thought that thieves would have a moral conscience?

Didn't we just have a thread on this exact same situation out of Las Vegas? Or was it another forum I'm a member of?
Half the people responding said they'd pay it, because the poor dear needed the money or it was a point of honor in keeping your word that you'd pay. The OP of the thread called the lost phone, not his phone, and agreed to pay $55 for the return and arraigned to meet inside a Fremont St. Casino for the exchange. He got the phone in hand then refused to pay. She went batshine crazy and started yelling. She still didn't get the money.
I posed as the phone's owner on one of these. They filed a 485pc but not extortion.

Hopefully she'll keep a close eye on herself.

Yes, we did. And then somebody from GNG came in and crapped all over the thread and said that the OP was wrong for not paying the phone's ransom. The concept that holding somebody's property from them under demand of payment for its return, when no legal right to do so exists, is a crime escaped him.
