View Full Version : How did you find Glocktalk?
I was doing a search on something 10/22 related. So, i started in the rimfire section. Then before I knew it I have 6 Glocks. That all happen back when the site was still the pinkish color . So how did you find your way here?

I got a lucky deal on a G26. Never owned a gun and didn't need this pistol but the deal was just to good to pass up. Doing my Google research on the G26 I came across GlockTalk. Now GlockTalk is my favorite forum. I don't come here anymore for Glocks, only for the GNG. Since getting that lucky deal on the G26 I now own maybe 20 or so pistols, rifles and shotguns. I have my CCW permit and my FFL03 license. All because of one little G26.

I was on XDTalk, then someone called it a "poser Glocktalk"
I hated Glocks (I Was only of those "1911s are a real man's gun" guys)
Now I won't buy any other pistol, and GNG is my home. I love everyone here and know they love me in return.

Had a question about a Glock and googled it and somebody else on GT had already asked the same question and I could see it as a search result. Clicked on it, and the rest is history.

I bought my first Glock pistol and was just surfing the net for info on it and stumbled across the forum. I no longer own any Glocks but this forum is great so I have just stuck around.

I shot myself in the leg while doing a professional presentation and heard that folks were making fun of me over and over again, so I wanted to check it out.

I got my G22 for Christmas from my dad in 2007 as it was his carry weapon while I was a kid, and started searching on it. Next thing you know I am constantly trolling the site and decided to join.
Love the information here about everything, although I could not post for a couple of years due to lack of internet....fixed that problem.
i was down in swamps doing some moonshining:whistling: and i got bit by a moccasin and i googled "what should i do bout moccasin ?> and it lead me to GLOCKTALK .:dunno::dunno:

I was researching the newer (at the time) Glock models, looking for reviews. Found this place and like an unwanted house guest moved in!

The traffic on Usenet's rec.guns had begun to wane. Someone listed Glocktalk as a good site to visit. So I checked it out...
My brother's G19 (an XY) started having problems doubling. I told him I wasn't going to shoot with him at the range until he got it fixed.
He asked me where he could find good info on Glocks, I came upon this site and recommended it to him.
All the info here served me well when I purchased a police trade G22, my favorite pistol.
Now I just interject snarky comments into serious discussions on GNG. Doesn't get any better than this.

I believe I saw something referencing GT as a right wing gun site and it sounded like just what I needed.
Nice bunch of people and very good source of gun info. Hard to not support this place when you learn so much from it.
Thanks guys.

I wanted to replace my carry gun.
A Beretta 84F knock off, Taurus TP-58. Good gun and all, but it was very fat being just a 380 ACP, mags were impossible to find and were $50 when available! So I researched 45ACP carry guns, and double stack 45ACP guns.
I made a list of what was popular and went around town renting what was available. Nothing impressed me too much, and I really wanted to love the Para Warthog, but could not find one that would run more than 3 rounds of HP without jamming.
While in PHX I went to a gun store (Indian School and I17) that had 200 guns for rent! About 5x as many as any store in Vegas in 2004.
I shot the G30 and Warthog side by side and fell in love with the G30. (WartHog/NiteHawg= Jam-o-matic!)
Came home, found GT doing search for the G30, read about a few recommended gun stores here in town, and bought it at TGS. Paid way to much ($630 OTD, with upgraded night sights and 2 mags), but I still have it! I bough a Crossbreed SuperTuck based on GT recommendations also. I have three of them now.

I bought a Glock 21sf with the ambi release. The first time the release fell apart in my hands, I started looking for a fix and to see if it was a common issue.

Someone mentioned GT on another gun forum that I'm a member of.
I had bought my first glock and was looking for info on cleaning and maintenance, so I googled for Glock forums to find someone to ask, and Glocktalk was at the top of the list.

I came here because of Leigh's group buy on the HS2000.
I can't really remember how I found out about the group buy.
Who knows... It was 13 years ago.
G21.
Stuck around for the fun.:whistling:
I was doing some research on an old 1800's Colt I have. This place came up in the search results so I joined to ask some questions.
For some reason I stuck around. Pretty strange since I've never been a member of a forum and to this day GT is the only site I frequent.
