View Full Version : Thinkin bout a 23
Probably a new Gen3. What was the issue with feeding from lights on the rail?
I believe that was limited to the g22s and it was resolved by them updating the magazine springs with 1 more coil. I have a gen3 rtf with gills g22 and I have no issues with using weapon mounted lights...but its nothing you need to worry about with a g23. Not to try to sway you, but if i were going g23, I'd go gen4. An extra mag, backstraps, new mag release, awesome grip texture, lighter feeling recoil spring. I believe the issues with the gen4's have been resolved, others will disagree, but to me its worth taking a chance and if you have problems with it, stay on glock CS until they fix it.
Were there a lot of problems with the 23's? I thought it was mostly 9mm's...
I've had a g23 for years, have had one or two rounds that failed to cycle the slide completely. I'm putting that on the reloads the range sells though, they're pretty weak compared to a defense load or even Winchester WB.
I have a second generation G23. I bought it new back in the early 90ís. It was my first Glock. It has been trouble free since day one.
I was more concerned about the ejection/BTF problems with the newer gens. Also, will the 23 fit my 17's Blackhawk Serpa?
Were there a lot of problems with the 23's? I thought it was mostly 9mm's...The main Gen 4 malady affecting the .40's be it the 27,23 and 22 was the Gen 4 magazine nub problem.
See post # 5 for pictures.
Supposedly it has been fixed but my LGS,four of them haven't seen them trickle in as of yet.
Their is a easy fix for it,it's called Gen 2 & 3 magazines,it also follows that if you were to purchase a Gen 2 or Gen 3 gun that would also help obtaining the once famous Glock perfection. SJ 40
i have a gen. 3 -23 it has never failed me, it's a keeper!
