Saw a preview for the new Bond film and had a question. At the start of all the movies during the part where they are singing it is sometimes in black and white and other times in color, hope this makes sense, they do something that I always thought was a camera apeture(sp?) being opened and closed but yesterday I thought it also may be the inside of a gun barrel focused at whoever is playing Bond or flashing to something else. It's at the start of every Bond film I have seen.

Anybody know? What is the purpose? This is about as clear as I can make this question!

Thanks.

It's supposed to be looking down the barrel of a gun. It's an iconic Bond sequence.

It took me years to realize it's a gun bbl, too.

I read today in the WSJ that there is a hint of bi-sexuality in the new Bond movie - I hope not. Sheesh. Talk about ruining an institution.

"Oh James."

"Noht nowww, Pusshhhhyy. I've got a meeting with Richard Enormous."

I always assumed it was a pistol barrel. The twisty pattern around the edge I took as rifling. Then James turns and shoots, and obviously gets the guy, as it starts to go wobbly.

Now Now, the film industry has to cater to everyone! :whistling: kind of silly to destroy an icon like James Bond for a little Richard Enormous...

Anyone ever notice Connery is the worst at wheeling-and-shooting?? His arm goes UP and DOWN as he spins. I'll take odds against that dude any day. LOL

No surprise.

In an interview when Casino Royale came out, Daniel Craig said he'd like to see Bond do a gay scene. I won't see any film with him in it.

That appears to be the opposite of what he thinks

"No," Craig said when I asked if he could ever imagine a "gay James Bond."
Why?
"Because he's not gay," he said. "And I don't think Javier's character is either—I think he'd f--k anything."
