I'm looking to get a a 22 or 23 to keep my 27 company, but I can't decide. The 27 is my EDC and the 22/23 would mainly be the nightstand gun. I am leaning toward the 23 since it could serve double duty as my concealed carry if needed. I'm thinking the 22 is too big to comfortably carry concealed.

I would appreciate any thoughts on the pro/cons of both guns.

Thanks

Since you already have the 27, I'd probably go for the full size 22. Either way, you'll probably end up with the 22 and the 23 in the future.

I have the 26 and bought the 17 to keep it company... And then I kept trying to carry it. Needless to say I sold it and picked up a 23. It conceals better is still comfortable. I conceal what ever will conceal under the shirt that day. And now I will be looking at the g20 or 21 to accompany it sometime in the future. I vote the 23 and start saving up again!

Get the 22 for the pillow and wear the 27 on the streets.

I got no problems concealing a 17 but my motto is carry the biggest gun you can and dress around the gun. I consider the 23 enough gun, I'm also considering one.

Isn't this a nice problem to have?

I was there a few years ago. I decided to go with the G22 since I felt the G23 would be too "in-between". The combination of the G27 and the G22 gave me both ends of the spectrum. I've had both for a few years now and am now working getting a G23 to round out the collection. Then, I will start acquiring 40-to-9 conversion barrels to essentially double my choices.

Ultimately, you decide what is the better choice for you at this time. You certainly can't go wrong with the options available to you.

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

I'm saving my pennies for a 23. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the 9mm...

Love my 22, but all around the 23 is a better size imo

I agree, and see no reason to have the larger, all around firearm, with the G22, and, only gaining two more rounds of capacity. As far as 40's go, I feel the G23 to be perfect size, for all uses.

I have a 22, 23, and 27. The 23 gets the most use. Best of both worlds. Like others before me have said, you will probably end up with all three anyway. Good luck.

I would go with the 23. Best Glock ever made

I've had all 3 at one time.

Now it's just the 23.

I'll take the 23 over the 22, I have both though.

You have the EDC 27.. I would go with the 22.

Not that you should get the 22 because I,myself like it better; but I have had both and like the recoil characteristics of the 22 better than the 23.

For home defense, I would definitely get the G22.

Flip a coin... Heads for the 22 and tails for the 23.

This is a difficult question to answer... That is if you're not planning to purchase another gun in the near future.

My first Glock was the Gen4 22 followed by 26, 21 and 23. My favorite is the 21. However, if my state allowed me to carry a pistol it would be the 23. The 23 fits my 5'9" and 205 male with a medium body frame and standard sized hands profile best if I wanted to carry all year round. I agree with those who argue that the 22 would be a great option for home defense. Mainly due to the extra rounds in the standard magazine, and perceived control that the 22 offers because of its size. The magazine argument is a non-factor as I have several 22 round mags. Plus after shooting the 23 for some time it replaced my 22 as pistol of choice to lay by my head at night.

If I had to depart from one of my guns and the choices were the 22 and 23. I would keep the 23, because it offers more flexibility than the 22.

I say buy them both, but get the 22 first. This way you'll want the best of both worlds between the 22 and 27. There's a possibility that you'll settle for the 23 and never look back.

Remember heads 22 and tails 23.

your original thought of the G23 serving double duty is why I decided on it as the first glock I bought. I also seemed to shoot it a tad better than the 22

Get the G23.

For home defense I'd prefer the G22. I've CCWd it but it is a pain. If you need it to do double duty (CCW and home defense) then IMO the 23 is a better way to go. I carry a 23 during the week and to me it's not that much more difficult to conceal than the 27.

I would get the 22 and start saving your pennies for the 23. I have the three frame sizes in the 9's and like them all.

I have both the 22 and 27. I carry the 27 about 90% of the time. The 22 is a great shooter and I bought it first for carry. Either way 22 or 23 you'll have a great gun. Enjoy the new Glock

I have all three now. Just picked up my 23 gen4 today. But as far as size the 23 I think will be more versatile.

There is a reason, the 23/19 sized Glocks, are so popular. They are the perfect size for a do all firearm!

We (my wife and I) have 17s and a 26, 22s and a 27, but no 19s or 23s. The reason? We just don't like the way they feel in our hands. That's why they make different sizes! They are all great guns. Truthfully, I think we shoot just as well with the little ones as the big ones. Get the one that feels the best in your hand!

And if they BOTH feel good then I guess you'll have to get 2 Glocks!

I have a 27 and a 23. I carry the 27 most of the time, and the 23 occasionally. The 23 is the perfect at home pistol and a great option for carrying. I'd say go for the 23.

I got my 23 instead of a 22 because it's going to be my carry weapon. If I already had a carry weapon, then I would've gone with the 22. As soon as I get the money, I'm planning on picking up a 22.

22 for a HD and range gun. 23 for carry, HD, and range. Very versatile. Just added a 23 yesterday and carried and it shot it today. May replace my 26 and 27 for EDC. I thought it would too big to carry IWB, but it was surprisingly comfortable.

I have shot both and prefer the feel of the full size as it is less snappy.

Get the G22. It is a more capable gun than the G23. More rounds and higher velocity, And, with the right holster, it carries well.

Picked up my new Gen 4 23 last Friday. Took it to the range on Saturday. Sweet shooting gun and it ran perfect out of the box.

I'm really happy with my decision to get the 23. I'm surprised at how well it carries compared to my 27. I hardly noticed any difference between the 2 when carrying.

Thanks again for all the input. What to get next......
