I am about to get a G22. I would like some recommendations on a holster I can use for concealed or open carry. It would be OWB carry as I am too fat to IWB. I realize a full size pistol isn't the best for concealed I would only conceal carry it during the winter under a sweat shirt.

I tend to prefer paddle holsters. I would also like to pay less than 80 bucks if I can and still have something of decent quality. I have no plans for a flashlight as of now. I do plan on doing some sort of night site in the near future and I will be converting it to 9mm with a threaded barrel.

See if Comp Tac has something you'd like. Their stuff is good.

Looking now.

Edit:

I like this one http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=53

Any other suggestions? Also what are the pro/cons of different holster types?

Well if you are going to open carry, I would think you would want something with a Level 2 retention like a Serpa

That's just me though.

Again I am very ignorant on holsters. Why do I want level 2 retention. not doubting just looking to educate myself.

When some goofball gets the bright idea to grab your open carried gun, the retention holster will give you enough time to pull your backup and blow his brains all over the sidewalk.

Level 2 adds a "locking" mechanism that will make it more difficult to snatch your gun like in the above scenario. Level 3 adds a second (or third) level of locking the pistol in place.

Nice explanation! That is what I thought. Actually I would go for my knife.

I'll be converting mine to 9mm. Then Ill install some night sight and buy a good holster. Other than that I'm leaving it alone.
