I've never bought or sold used brass. I'm just a little leary about how many times the "once fired" have actually been through the cycle. Not like there's an odometer on them and I ain't gonna' check every single case for dings, cracks and big primer holes.
If you're buying, I'd recommned just ponying up a little more bucks and get new brass or loaded ammo and re-load that brass.

If you're selling, shoot the crap out of it and sell the stuff after you have problems with head / case seperation.

Just kidding on the selling deal....honesty is the best policy.

FullClip,

I hear what you are saying, but I pick up brass off the ground at my local shooting range all the time and to be real honest, I don't have any idea just exactly how many times that brass has been shot.

I usually have a three time reloading rule I try as hard as I can to stick with. After that I either don't retrieve them or they hit the scrap bucket.

But as for buying used brass - I've done that before and all of it have worked fine. Just make sure that your inspection process is up to snuff when you clean them. After all we all are our own quality control department.

This is about right. However, most brass that I see for sale has been tumbled, but not deprimed.

I often pick up range brass, and I trade away the calibers I don't own for something I do.
