147gr win.hollow points 50Rds
124gr+p win.pdx 15Rds

I am very pleased. I shot additional 100 rds through my gen2 g19 for comparison. Gen 4 was on par with gen 2

Where was it ejecting before?

9:00, 6:00, 5:30 , not necessarily in that order. I'd get 3-4 rds a mag that would eject like that. No malfunctions though I should note.

I am very excited hearing these results. I have the 23 but my hopes are the 23 version they are working on performs as yours has.

If anyone is having ejection issues and wants to try out a LWD 9mm extractor before dropping the cash on an apex shoot me a PM. $10 shipped.

Congrats! I hope that it will not revert to brass in the face.

Not likely. prior to apex, I fired 1500 rds with only weak and erratic ejection , none to face. Only BTF I had was during first 300 rds with the 336 ejector. But I guess anything is possible.

Unlikely, us testers logged between 20-30k rounds in 6 months without it returning.

I'll have to say though, I would have alot more cash in my pocket if my glock performed as advertised right out of the box. With ammo and trips back to smyrna as well as the apex. In hindsight I should have waited for the apex.

That is outstandingly news, my only hope is Apex comes out with extractors for .40 & .45 Glocks.

I talked to Apex last week and they confirmed to me the .40 is in the works

They did change their mind and decided to make a 40 extractor.

Yes in an email Friday the said they are working on 40 versions also. But didn't give me any time frame when asked.

I'm very pleased to hear this, I also think Apex shouldnt share at the idea of making a .45 extractor as well. While the .45s have been the least susceptible to BTF, there has been reports of BTF with .45 Glocks. I bet Apex could make their money back on both calipers and then some.

would be nicer if they wouldn't print APEX on the extractor.
have no issues with my gen. 3 glocks, but if i would have, i'd try the APEX of course, but the printing/stamping really isn't nice, i'd much more prefer a non-marked extractor, just for "style"- reasons

Yep. The 45 gap left a nice mark on my forehead, with a hat on. I don't see them doing it though.

I'll double you on that , there's more peeps that feel the same way. It will only hurt sales of it in the end. i was lucky enough to get a unmarked one. On the other hand though , if they work , they work.

You have to be joking? It's a weapon, and a Glock at that, not a work of art.

dusty_dragon
11-20-2012, 06:42
i'm not joking at all, you can have your weapon styled up like you want, i'll do it with mine like i want, and i personally think the APEX extractors look much better without the name stamped upon them!
don't get me wrong, if someone needs the APEX extractor due to BTF probs, its better to install a "APEX" stamped extractor than getting brass in the face, but if they wouldn't stamp their name on the outside of the extractor it would look much better.
and i'm not alone with that opinion as others state here and in other threads also ;-)

I don't get all the complaining.

Lone Wolf & Storm Lake put their names on
their barrels. Pachmeyer puts it's name on grips.
Most if not all aftermarket company's
put their name on products.

Same on car & motorcycle performance parts.

I really doubt that a Glock owner would
rather have BTF & FTE then see APEX on
the extractor that Glock won't make.

read my postings above, i strongly recommend the use of the APEX extractor if someone has the BTF problem, even if it would be pink i'd recommend it, but it would be nicer if it would be plain black without stamping like the first ones were, they were perfect in function and in style.

My guess is that people that dont like it engraved do not want to advertise they have a problematic glock that needed a third party fix. Partly embarrassment partly style conflict maybe?

dusty_dragon
11-20-2012, 12:38
perhaps, but speaking just for me, i have no issues at all with my old gen.3 glocks, so i don't need the APEX at all, but i think it is a very good solution for all "problem-glocks"

but i like their first version much more, i just can't understand (also refering to other guns and aftermarket parts) why they must print their name etc. in such big letters on it.

just take a HK416 or other modern firearms, they got several different letter sizes and type faces printed upon, i like it uniform and modest, that's all i'm saying.

I understand. My thing is that some people may not buy the extractor for the sole purpose of the engraving. As silly as that sounds, thats the way it is. People like there gun to look a certain way ,be it a glock or any firearm.

dusty_dragon
11-20-2012, 13:04
you are absolutely right, the first and most important thing is that the gun works to 100%, if it only does with the "APEX" printed APEX extractor, so that's the way to go, that's for sure.

but if there'd be a chance of getting it working with the APEX extractor, but without the "APEX"-printing on the side of it, you'd have killed two birds with one stone ;-)

I have read that some people are replacing the gen 4 extractor with a non LCI. Which one are people using?

Thanks

It is a sad day that you had to buy a glock after market part to make it work.
SHAME on you Glock!

It really is kind of sad. It used to be that if somebody posted about a problem with a Glock, they would be met with a chorus of people telling them to remove all the aftermarket crap and leave it stock if they wanted it to run right.

Now, there are parts being sold, not for the tinkerers, but, to make it work like it should.

The internet does have a tendency to skew the number of problems out there. I don't doubt people are getting smacked in the head by brass, and, its unnaceptable, but, I wonder how many folks actually have the problem? Apparently a fair amount for an after market manufacurer to make money at it.

The latest Glocks I have are a Gen 3 G19 from 2010 and, an issue Gen4 G22. They both seem to run fine, but, my sympathy to those that are having problems.
