Hello everyone, after cutting my teeth on the M9 for six years in the military and primarily owning Sigs and 1911s I have finally crossed over to the dark side and purchased a Glock 19 FDE!

Lol, just saw you on the 1911 forum!

Congrats again. You made a great choice. I hate to say it but I started out a 1911 guy but I am far more comfortable with Glocks at this point.

I feel like one Glock isn't enough for some reason!

That's because the more you shoot the more you appreciate a low bore axis.

I started on H&Ks, then Sigs, now I'm 100% Glock.

I got rid of my Sigs but couldn't do it
to my HKs :).

My Glocks keep growing though...

Im sure this question has been asked billions of times but are Gen 3 and Gen 4 mags interchangeable with different Gen Glocks?

as long as the mag release stays installed for a right handed shooter on the gen4s. otherwise they all work both ways between gens.

nice pick up, i was eyeing a FDE gen4 but opted to go traditional. i wish they would make a "ranger green" framed glock and i'd be all over that.

I have pondered ownership of a Glock 20 for my backpacking forays. Way more affordable than a Colt Delta Elite or trying to find a S&W 1076.

Is there anything different about the Glock in relation to maintenance or shooting grip than the hammer-fired guns Im used to?

Congratulations. Glocks don't need as much oil as what you might be used to with your M9 experience. Owner's manual shows where to place the small drops of oil. My grip has not changed from 1911, Beretta or Glock but the trigger is different. I adjusted quickly but it is different.
Good luck and stay safe,
Mike
