Maybe I should not have bought one of these.
Dang they are fun.
Glocks,1911s,10-22s etc. are also things that start with an initial purchase and then the fun begins.

Mods, upgrades and more. It never gets boring.

Before you hang a bunch of crap off your rifle, shoot it. Get instruction. Adding unneeded junk to your gun isn't going to make you a better shooter.

What he said. I am old school. I like my rifle clean. I was making center of mass hits at 500 meters with an M16-A1. You don't need all the tacticool crap.

500 meters? You must be a really good marksman. I remember 300 meter targets being difficult to hit.

USMC Known Distance Metric course

200 Meters standing
200 meters standing to sitting
300 meters Kneeling
300 meters standing to prone
500 meters prone

10 rounds each position

Back in the day I was real good. Getting old sucks.

No its not, but I want to be able to flashlight them, laser them, and red dot them before I shoot them.

Just iron sighting them is no damn fun!

OP, I agree ARs are money bags.

Especially when the guy at the gun store hands you his tacticool'd gun and says "hey look at this"

I am not into tacticool, but I like optics, caliber conversions, slings and maybe a light.

For a home defense weapon, a light is essential. A sling Optics are good, too, but not required. After that, the best accessories are magazines, ammo, and instruction.

Exactly! But it will make you a mall ninja!

Weird...I seem to shoot better with good optics.
