View Full Version : Bought some reloading supplies today:'(
Ramshot zip $25 for a pound
.38 wad cutters/500 $34
Federal small primers $44:crying:
Called bass pro and they were the same price so I payed the exorbant price. Last ones I bought were $36.
Have they gone up on line? Any reliable cheaper alternative.
I thought the price on the lead and powder were ok...

Molds, inexpensive Lee casting furnace, lead.
I found a place with really competitive prices on lead, premixed in the old "Lyman" alloy, and if I order more than 60# they ship for free in the "If it fits, it ships" containers. (My mailman hates me)

Jeeez. I just got CCI primers for $27 / 1000 at Powder Valley.com... Yeah, I had to max out the hazmat fee, but I needed some powders too.
If not, split the hazmat with a friend.

I saw their prices and have ordered in the past. Is the hazmat fee still $20? How is the shipping now? I guess you would have to order about 5k for it to be worth it...
Thanks bsa

I've ordered a bunch for them in the past. They are slightly cheaper than the valiant I buy but I don't have shipping. Great folks to deal with though....

I can get a slightly cheaper price on 5K from my local dealer when I add in the hazmat fee and shipping. My favorite shop sells primers for $31 per 1000. It takes at least 10K primers from PV before I start to see a savings. I like others max out the shipping weight on primers and powder to save money. Here lately though I've just been buying in bulk from my local guy. He cuts me a deal. He stays in business and I can live with the little higher cost.
Just paid a visit to my local gun/reloading store... they had Federal SSP #100 for $27.99/1,000. No shortage either.
I just had to pick up a couple K... just in case... you guys understand.

Powder valley is where I get my powder and primers.
How many primers can I get on one hazmat?
Is $14/1000 + shipping a good price?

It rarely pays to order online unless you buy 5 or 10 K at a time.
Federal small primers $44
Even during the election shortage of 08 my most expensive primers were $27.00
Xshooterx, you better not wipe them out! I haven't ordered mine yet.
Wideners has wolfe(both magnum and 556).
I'm going to call them and ask about commercial shipping and maxing out the hazmat.

I'll leave you some :) If you don't mind, post up what you find out about the shipping and what their max is. Thanks.

50,000 is the max hazmat for primers. UPS charges $1.75 home delivery fee.
Now-your turn to call, wait five minutes then ask if the shipping charges from the website include the hazmat fee.
I may regret listing this but my local reloading shop charged me $29.90 per 1000, I think during the '08 madness. That was for wolfe srp!
